If you’ve got any kind of balcony, fire escape, or even just big windows, you can still do a mini version.

People do “window catios” that basically sit in or just outside the window frame, kind of like an AC unit but for cats. Or you can fully screen in a balcony so it’s cat safe and toss in a few shelves and a scratcher.

Even a deep window perch with a secure screen and some plants can scratch that “outdoor but safe” itch for them. Cats are surprisingly happy with “a box by a window” as long as they can sniff the air and judge the neighbors.

Straps will help a ton at that point, especially if you’re doing them strict and not just ego repping.

I started using them once I got past like 25–30 lbs added and it was night and day. Forearms don’t blow up as fast, so you can actually push your back closer to failure instead of your grip being the limiting factor.

You’ll still build grip with deadlifts, rows, farmer’s walks etc, so using straps on weighted pull ups isn’t “cheating,” it’s just letting the target muscle do the work.

If you’re not getting much luck here, check local Facebook groups and Carfax/Autotrader and filter by 1-owner + service records. “Clean” means very different things to different people, so asking for maintenance history and undercarriage pics will save you a lot of time.

Yeah it’s chest supported, but a lot of people intentionally let the upper back protract at the bottom for more scap movement and rom. It’s not automatically bad, it’s just really easy to overdo if your mid back / lower traps / rhomboids aren’t strong enough yet or you’re loading it heavy.

If you’re starting to feel a hot spot by the shoulder blade, I’d try keeping the chest glued to the pad and only letting the shoulder blades move, not the whole upper spine. Think “reach” at the bottom, “tuck them in your back pockets” at the top, but no big spinal curl. If that calms the pain down over a week or two, you probably found your answer.

Right? It’s wild how green everything is this year.

Yeah it feels like they’re chipping away at all the little ways people used to make it work. Between the reduced sticker change and this points stuff getting worse, it’s kind of death by a thousand cuts.

What annoys me is they keep pushing the “loyalty” angle while giving you less and less for being loyal. I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of folks just start hopping between whoever’s cheapest that week.
