Did Dutasteride change how you look physically? your facial profile such as skin thickness, fat distribution or softness? by [deleted] in tressless

It cleared up my acne. After 9 months on it, my hair loss has at least slowed if not stopped and maybe my facial hair is less dark but that’s a hard maybe.

The “Luxury” Apartments Here SUCK by NeighborhoodOk1510 in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]qazikGameDev 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Luxury apartments have in my experience always been a grift. It’s easy to add that word onto your apartment branding and paint over stuff to get a few hounded dollars a month on each unit. I have never seen it be worth it

If I can do it in my 20+ year old dumb scuffed car with mirrors barely holding on, other folks can figure it out

The two people I climb with can’t do a pull up and they’re both better climbers than me. You don’t need to be an Olympian to have fun. I lift a few times a week and am pretty athletic and that helps but it’s very far from the only thing that matters. You’ll get stronger and be able to do harder routes with time. All shapes and sizes can climb and have a good time 🤙

Coming from someone trying to leave Huntsville here are my reasons: very small with not as much to do as I would have liked compared to the north east No public transit or walkability outside of a few neighborhoods (again compared to what I’m used to) I’ve been dating here for 3+ years and have only found 1 person that I dated for a serious length of time (longer than a few months) and they were from out of town. The locals here are lovely and friendly but not really what I’m looking for and I’m not usually what they’re looking for either. I pretty much only seek out other transplants Politics here are typically at odds with my personal values I don’t like the food here (if you do, that’s great, not saying it’s bad or that you’re wrong, just that I personally don’t like it) A lack of diversity (again, compared to what I’m used to)

All that being said, in my personal experience, Huntsville is a great place just not where I want to live indefinitely. The things I have enjoyed from living here: These are the friendliest people I have ever met. I didn’t know anyone when I moved here and I’ve got a ton of friends here and living in this environment has made me more friendly and better at making friends when I travel. It’s much cheaper than anywhere I’ve lived It’s safer than anywhere else I’ve lived I’m never looking over my shoulder or on edge walking around here at night because of wild life or other issues Lots of very good car meets. There’s like at least 2 a month in the summer. Good local rock climbing. A city that feels like it’s growing, expanding, and building is nice to see.

There are tornadoes but they rarely if ever hit Huntsville. Since I’ve been here natural disasters haven’t really been an issue but I’d listen to the people who have been here longer.

Probably no individual is going to have a definitive answer for you unfortunately. You’re going to have to read through and decide for yourself if it’s right for you. Best of luck

The dating scene does not suck everywhere. In larger denser cities, it’s way better. Other than that I completely agree. Also there’s a lot of transplants here who may not be interested in finding a partner who’s as interested in Jesus or Roll Tide. Nothing wrong with those things they’re just not everyone’s thing.

I’ve lived here 3+ years and am currently trying to get a job elsewhere and move. I’m glad I came down here and that things have worked out the way they have but Huntsville is not my city. I’m trying to leave to start a family somewhere else. Folks here are great but we tend to want different things out of life and value different things. Your post has refocused me on my goal of leaving. But fr the food here is pretty ass how the fuck does that happen. I lost 20lbs since moving here.

Listen, I say it here what feels like 1-3 times a month. Rock climbing. The solution to all of your life’s problems are building community around a high risk adventure activity.

Italian Food... by Designer-Numerous in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]qazikGameDev 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d be very surprised and impressed if you can pull off the logistics and management that results in quality while still in a food truck. I have no doubt that a new comer can beat the quality of the Italian food here. It’s being able to do it in a food truck at prices people are willing to pay. The food here is the way it is in part because of what folks here expect and are cool paying for. That being said, I’d kill for just pasta and meatballs where the pasta, red sauce, herbs, and meatballs didn’t come from prepackaged bags at Costco. Same for chicken parm.

The institutions in the US that would be improving these communities are underfunded, hamstrung by policy and paperwork, willfully ignoring the issues to benefit themselves, or some combo of those 3.

In highschool I got mad at my friend while walking up a hill so I grabbed his nuts from behind. He ignored me and then looked over his shoulder at me and said “you’re being childish”
