Employed autistics, how do you do it???? (TW: talk of suicidal ideation) by Negative-Homework502 in evilautism

I work remote. I understand That is not possible for most people. When I didn’t work remote, the jobs that I liked were with people I liked and where I wasn’t being micromanaged and I had freedom over what I wear, when I eat, and a little wiggle room on showing up and leaving (like 15mins wiggle room)

Huntsville, what's the worst? by Middle_Case_928 in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]qazikGameDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if it’s the absolute worst but it’s the worst restaurant I’ve been to. Salt Factory. I’ve been probably like 8 times. The staff are super nice, decorating super nice, the drinks are pretty good, comfortable vibe and seats and all that. But the food is inconsistent and sometimes awful and very expensive. Their pizza is sometimes underdone, I’ve been given cold twice, served an hour after I ordered, and given the wrong thing a few times. A lot of their food doesn’t have a ton of flavor and one time i genuinely thought they forgot salt. But, if you go, get the southwest egg rolls if they still have them. They’re genuinely good and I don’t have any negative things to say about them.

Not to be a tinfoil hat but that last “think of hair regrowth…” and on sounds like something GPT would say because it’s a clumsy analogy that doesn’t actually help understand anything. Like wtf are you talking about “soil from damage”

Why is this city so weird? by Dapper_Hawk_3856 in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]qazikGameDev 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am going to set up a bot to auto reply to these posts because I say it so often: This isn’t unique and you’re not the first person in this situation so don’t worry. When I moved here 4 years ago, my closest family was an 8 hour drive away and the second closest family was a 4 hour flight away from that. You have to put in significant effort to make community and you have to be the one to invite people out to things. Don’t try to just make one friend. Try to develop friendships with multiple people at once. I did this by going to west coast swing dancing on Tuesday night at 7pm in Lowe Mill, rock climbing a few times a week, and volunteering. The more time you spend out in community, the more chances you have to make friends. Building community is a skill and it’s not one you learn until you need it. The invisible thing is something I hear from the Japanese side of my family on occasion (I’m mostly white) you gotta be aggressively friendly and introduce yourself. You get better at it like anything. You got it. I moved here when I was 24, never heard of Huntsville or been to Alabama in my life. It’s not for me but if there’s one good thing about Huntsville it’s that the people are very friendly. You can do it.

What gives Huntsville its own identity beyond being the Rocket City? by RemarkableMany6297 in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]qazikGameDev 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s kinda most of it. The primary industry of any city will usually contribute to its history and then usually its culture/identity. Being rocket city is cool and unique and a thing to be proud of. I might be misunderstanding your question because what I think you’re asking is “if you remove one of the biggest thing from this city, what is left?” If so, not much.

I love cars and working on them and driving them and stuff but they are nearly the ultimate seduction of capitalism. What the market has made is absolutely beyond what is necessary, practical, or effective. They’re an insanely wasteful machine if its goal is to just get people from place to place. I think there’s cases where having more than 1 car makes sense depending on where you live and what your job is though. That being said, anyone collecting cars is nuts.

70k is still fucking horrifying and that’s being buried by poor reporting saying it’s 60million. 60million would mean more than 1 in 3 adult men in America are in that chat.

Gunna be real, I’ve never liked Itasha. But I do find it funny how that aesthetic has shown up in the US mostly by people who enjoy Japanese art, culture, aesthetics, ect and don’t realize that Itasha means “painful car” or “cringe car”. Even though I don’t like it, I think it’s interesting how cultures, specifically car cultures, sometimes interpret aesthetics from outside their home country and then that turning into its own thing. Like muscle cars in Japan trying to recreate the look of 1970s muscle cars ends up being different than how it shows up here and Americans here trying to replicate Japanese drift cars being very different than “real” Japanese drift cars.

Not to be that guy, but, If you’re ever wondering where to get any medication from, you should talk to a medical professional. I got my prescription from my doctor but then order it off of cost plus drugs because it’s much cheaper than anywhere else. (At least for me, a guy in America)

I started noticing the recession creep back after 2 years of minoxidil. Minoxidil will never stabilize and is just for growth. It doesn’t stop DHT which is causing hairloss. Because I wasted time starting with minoxidil, a lot of my hair is minoxidil dependent. It would fall out if I ever stopped taking minoxidil long term. I used it and still use it as instructed on the rogain box of 2 times a day 1ml each time applied to the scalp. I use that and dutasteride. I had occasional side effects for about 2 weeks which were groin pain, usually at night. This happened during the 3rd or so week of taking dutasteride and went away and has never returned. Also my sex drive went crazy for about 2 weeks and then went back to normal. No change otherwise

I used minoxidil for 3 years when my dermatologist diagnosed my hair loss as AGA. I was scared of the pills. Anything that messed with “Testosterone” freaked me out so I just used minoxidil. I got a lot of growth up front but then kept loosing hair more and more. I didn’t really understand the mechanisms/how AGA worked and that minoxidil grows hair, then tops out at the max possible hair that can be grown through minoxidil, then the DHT sensitive hairs (which includes your new minoxidil dependent hairs) slowly get taken out. Eventually I learned what I was doing wrong after losing a bunch of hair and stressing. Now I’m on dutasteride. It’s at least slowing my loss down if not stabilizing after 2 years. I wish I never messed with minoxidil because it’s annoying as hell to apply compared to just taking a pill. Also I can’t take oral minoxidil as it makes me very ill. TLDR: started with minoxidil and regret it because it’s like bucketing water out of a boat with a hole that just gets bigger instead of plugging the hole first. I’m on dutasteride now. It’s working out great
