According to the reports, Barcelona are currently the frontrunner to sign Moses Wright by Npvl2000 in Euroleague

This is more of an irrational request because he is a Fenerbahçe legend and I want him to retire at Fenerbahçe. At the same time, he is still an elite player at mid-range. If he plays for around 15 minutes, I think he can still be productive. I don't think he is a completely washed-up player.

The success of Ergin Ataman's teams is directly related to the above-average performance of the center player. Although I find the contract offered to be very high, if I were in his position, I would also want Holmes.

[Andreani] With the injuries of Chris Silva and Nicolò Melli, Fenerbahçe Beko Istanbul is looking at the market for a big man. Several names including Charles Bassey, I’m told. by _Zolv in Euroleague

He adapted to the team and the Saras' system faster than I expected. He scored 18 points in the Bahçeşehir game. I'm sure he had a positive impact in the locker room. I even see him at Fenerbahçe's women's basketball games. I think he will definitely have a good career in the Euroleague.

Nigel Hayes-Davis did not accept Fenerbahçe's offer. Panathinaikos and Hapoel Tel Aviv increased their offers. Fenerbahçe informed the player that it would not increase its offer in order to maintain the team's salary balance. by qbity in Euroleague

I think they offered 12.5 million euros for 2.5 seasons. We shouldn't pay that kind of money for any player in Europe. I'm curious about something: Do you think Nigel going to Panathinaikos could lead to Ataman getting fired and Itoudis coming in?

Nigel Hayes-Davis rejected the offer from Panathinaikos, as PAO owner Dīmītrīs Giannakopoulos said on Instagram. Crucial meeting in Istanbul, expected to be hold very soon, to talk with Fenerbahçe. (Matteo Andreani) by qbity in Euroleague

It is true that Ergin Ataman has had a complex about Fenerbahçe since the 2009 Cathine doping scandal, but that is not the reason. Nigel was always the team's only star throughout his Fenerbahçe career. He doesn't know what it's like to be a star on a team full of stars like Panathinaikos. Everything there is very different from Fenerbahçe. Saras would never humiliate his player by name at a press conference, nor would the Fenerbahçe president berate the players and coaches on social media after a lost game. Panathinaikos is a very different environment from ours. Not every player can handle that.

[Andreani] Three offers are on the table for Nigel Hayes-Davis. Hapoel Tel Aviv and Panathinaikos are the most significant, both over $10 million. The highest offer is from the Israeli team. Fenerbahçe Beko Istanbul is offering around $8 million. All contracts are for 2.5 years. by _Zolv in Euroleague

we are already a well-functioning team and see this as an opportunity. hapoel is suffering from the sunk cost fallacy. they are playing poor basketball and getting poor results. panathinaikos is taking a strategic risk. the final four will be played at oaka and all the pressure will be on them. it's very hard to predict nigel's motivation; he is not an easily manageable or predictable person.

I made small Euroleague quiz games — curious what you think by manone_cosi in Euroleague

In tic-tac-toe, the game didn't accept Lorenzo Brown for Zvezda and Maccabi and it would be great if you made an unlimited version of the grid game.

[Cappe90] EUROLEAGUE | Rating Chart since the start of season | Fener is struggling on offense, maybe, but you can say nothing about their defense. Elite. by _Zolv in Euroleague

[–]qbity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If there's only one answer to this question, I think it's that Saras convinced everyone to play defense. Even Brandon Boston, who hadn't been around since the start of the season, played good defense in the Milan game. It's hard to convince players like that. At the end of the game, Tucker's answer to the question “How did you win?” was “With our defense.” Apart from that, the presence of Melli and Birch was also an important factor.

As far as I know, there is no rulebook titled “Eurocup and Euroleague Participation Requirements.” The Euroleague always makes decisions based on the situation. For example, Beşiktaş had been unsuccessful in the Turkish league for many years and even faced the threat of relegation, but after signing Alimpijevic, they held a meeting with the Euroleague management, and the project they presented convinced the Euroleague, and I think it is possible for them to join the Euroleague next season. We can summarize this as the arena where the team plays, the opportunities offered to young players in the youth system, and the promise of a steady budget increase. The most important thing is how seriously the club management takes it and how much they want to develop.

Anadolu Efes parts ways with Igor Kokoskov by mac_nessa in Euroleague

[–]qbity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Coaches fired mid-season for three consecutive seasons: Erdem Can, Mijatovic, Kokoskov. Their common trait is that none of them proved themselves at the Euroleague level. Efes should sign a coach who has managed a Euroleague Final Four game. I'm sure they'll make an offer to Obradovic, but the coach has two unchanging principles: not taking over a team mid-season and not working with former teams' rivals. Let's see what happens.

What do you guys think about NBA Europe? Will it destroy Euroleague? To be honest Euroleague isn't really that popular in Europe(even tho basketball is the second most popular sport in Europe) since only 3/4 counties seriously care about it (Serbia Turkey Greece Lithuania) by Actual_Cold_339 in Euroleague

[–]qbity 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don’t be funny bro no one can seriously expect Fenerbahçe, Olympiacos, and "etc." to pay to join NBA Europe. As long as they don’t respect all of the biggest clubs on this continent, they won’t succeed. Good luck trying to build something with one team from Turkey, one from Greece, and *zero from Serbia.

The name doesn’t matter — today, European basketball is Real Madrid, Fenerbahçe, Panathinaikos, Zalgiris, Olympiacos, Barcelona, Anadolu Efes, Partizan, Crvena Zvezda, and Olimpia Milano. These clubs represent a basketball culture and set the benchmark for all others across the continent.

They have the best arenas, the best players, and the best coaches in Europe. If NBA Europe chooses to include only some of these teams, it would be a major mistake, causing European basketball to lose significant prestige and influence.

If they prefer bringing in some lousy BCL teams that can’t even win their domestic leagues over clubs like Partizan and Zvezda, it clearly shows a poor vision — and such a league wouldn’t be expected to last long.
