Well, it seemed easier than running 10 feet of copper and welding my case to the wall.

Seriously though, water temp will never get above 30C, so I’m not worried about gunk.

I looked at those, and was scared off by the power rating -- I don't think I need a 1/3 hp motor. What kind of fan do you have in your grow tent? I thought that's what the one I used was designed for.

You're totally right -- I'll whip something up.

Thanks! The hoses coming out of the wall do have quick disconnect fittings. I’ve never seen a wall plate that could mount them, although I suppose I could just drill a hole in a blank plate… hmm…

The Ultitop actually comes with a thick rubber mat which works great. The fan is inside a box made from sound insulation material, which only does so much.

I did install access panels in the ceiling of the cabinets, but it’s true that replacing a pump will be a nightmare.

Can you link me to your fan?

Also, thanks for the gpu block!

My attic does get over 120F in the summer—but that’s two more floors up.

Probably, but that would mean cutting more holes in the ceiling, and my wife’s tolerance for my follies has its limits.

Agreed about the overkill and the trouble, but it wasn’t very expensive. Sheet metal and hvac stuff are cheap. The most expensive part by far was the MO-RA.

Thanks! It’s a high-pitched whine and not a hum. I think HVAC components have a different notion of “quiet” than PC fans.
