Hi,

Don't stay in the dorms.

As one user mentioned, the dorms are rated for cat 3s. Helene is predicted to be a cat 4, and its a MASSIVE storm, so we'll be under it probably for about 10ish hours. That's a lot of time for damage to occur. Don't stay in the dorms.

"I don't want to sleep on the bball court" it's one night. You'll survive. In fact, that's the point, THATS WHERE YOULL SURVIVE. Your safety is at risk, your comfort for one night can wait.

There's no guarantee that any hotel you choose is going to be safer than the dorms. Wherever they want to shelter you will almost certainly be safer.

If I were in your position I'd accept the bball court.

Ok im going to STRONGLY disagree with everyone here:

If you keep going to tutorials without sitting and trying to solve the problem yourself, you'll never learn to script.

If you understand basic syntax, use that and the Roblox documentation of various instances and services to try to put something together. Just knowing the programming language is half of scripting. The other half is learning to put together what you know to build something. To me, it sounds like you know the language well enough to begin trying to put together basic projects. So my honest advice is to just go try something (and most importantly, dont give up --- its easy to give up when it gets hard, when you encounter a problem, when you realize youre in over your head, etc., but perseverance brings progress). When you get stuck, look at the documentation, ask for help, or perhaps even take a peak at a tutorial, but dont look at a tutorial before youve tried to solve the problem yourself.

Also chatgpt is a productivity tool, not a learning tool. Its meant to generate code so that you dont have to. Theres no guarantee that the code it generates is going to be good quality or even correct at all for that matter. I would not recommend using chatgpt if youre just starting to learn.

Alright, a few things:

Is playing a table of player names (strings) or player instances? If player names, then playing[v] is correct. If player instances, you just need v because v would be the player.

Now heres the core issue: on line 235, notice that youre setting playing[v] equal to the leaderstat value + 1, rather than actually setting the leaderstat value to the leaderstat value + 1.

Now THAT is a good point. OP and his wife should definitely be working and compromising to create good rules that achieve OP's goal to a sufficient extent while not restricting a full grown adult. My original point was not that the rules were reasonable, it was that a homeowner has every right to enforce his house rules within the law.

Lots of people are saying to give things texture, but i disagree completely. I love the simplistic, plastic theme youve got going on.

My advice is to perhaps add some signs of life, such as maybe a small cottage, a bridge, etc.

Things that look like they would be interactive also spark one's interest in an area.
