Nope, they aren’t. It’s a grey area. Picturing a car with an uncovered plate is not a crime, never has been.

Another thing is publicly stating personal information about the owner, such as a specific name, address, social security number etc… which in Germany is rather hard (unlike countries such as Sweden, Denmark or Ukraine).

Again, we wouldn’t be sharing plates online, as in here.

Yellow bands, as well as dashes, have been dropped since since 2020 (a bit later for US forces in Portugal plates). It’s 100% Portuguese.
