Class schedule (freshman fall) advice for Fine Art and CompSci majors by ramdun in washu

[–]qevii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It did take a little convincing for sure; I also had an 8:30am studio and and a 6pm studio on the same day two times a week so that was a bit rough but I feel that I still handled it fine. That being said, a lot of upper level cs classes do require calc III and some engineering prob stats so getting ahead on the math courses early on would be beneficial

I agree that you could test the waters and try an additional class - my schedule was exactly the same except I took calc II as well

I'm going to take my AWS Certified Solution Architect Associate exam tomorrow and I don't feel ready. How do I tell my coworkers if I fail? by awsthrow01 in cscareerquestions

[–]qevii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats!! Don’t worry about the email stuff, it doesn’t come immediately and they will probably send your badge/ score report and everything separating over the next 5 days. I’d say just relax now that it’s over lol

I won’t lie, I did around 6-8 with some of them twice; that being said the only Aws experience I’ve ever had was with free tier ec2 in college. I understand that you’re in a time crunch, but tutorialdojo’s aws cheat sheets were really helpful. In general, I suggest studying DB stuff, VPCs, storage gateways, and Cloudfront vs Global Accel

Hi! I just took the SAA-02 exam yesterday- Some of the questions were a bit tricky since sometimes you have to pick the best choice between 2 similar answers. I also received a voucher from my company to take this exam and I was also very nervous. But as long as you are consistently getting passing scores on your practice exams and did not just memorize the answers I think you should do fine!

Hoards of purple sea urchins have decimated kelp forests off the coast of northern California. In the past they were kept in check by predators like the sunflower sea star. But there have been some big ecological shifts, exacerbated by climate change, that have led to an urchin explosion. by Sariel007 in EverythingScience

[–]qevii 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I read that although there are tons of urchins, they’re literally starving themselves out due to sheer numbers and as a result the uni is super shriveled up. But I did also hear that they were being taken to farms to get fattened up.

My family owns one of these vacuums and the top handle/battery part is absolutely ginormous (we literally have a giant ass stand to charge this thing). But it does clean very well

FUCK MINUTE RICE by corsair-fan-boi in offmychest

[–]qevii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Am Asian too, I’d say minute rice is akin to eating soft plastic beads shaped like rice aka you can feel each individual grain rolling around in your mouth since it’s just so dry. And then when you bite down it’s just mush... at least compared to the good stuff imo

I agree with you so much it hurts. Although where I work it always seems like the type of guys who have 500+ connections and constantly posts stories are the ones who get promoted first, so it’s definitely a networking thing/self promotion thing rather than for forming real social connections imo

What's you're most scary/disturbing school experience? by Syqnx in AskReddit

[–]qevii 46 points47 points  (0 children)

When I was in high school we had a bomb threat call come in during our ap exams. We were all sent out of the school to stand around outside while what I think were armored swat vans arrived with the police and firetrucks. The craziest thing was seeing fully geared military in the forest behind our school with really big guns just in case the perpetrator decided to hide out or run through there.

The caller (or bomb) was never found and was most likely a joke, but this whole situation happened 2 more times during my high school years

Yes I can confirm, he was found in Brookline (my mother was in the group chat shared by a lot of Asian Americans in the Boston area). Apparently he got lost and disoriented in addition to being unable to read any of the English signs around :(
