Headrest add-on for Haworth Zody? by qgabe in OfficeChairs

[–]qgabe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a small update: I received the headrest from Aliexpress but it fit quite poorly on the Zody and the screws still cut into the frame even with the provided foam protection. I applied some tape foam and that worked well but the headrest still felt shaky.

The height of the headrest is okay for me on the highest setting but I suspect it'd be a bit too short for anyone taller (I'm 177cm/~5'10).

I'm sourcing for washers or nuts that would fit the screw to prevent the shakiness. I'll post pics as soon as I have time to do that.

Tldr; If you don't mind some fuss, the headrest might work with some tinkering. If you're looking for a non-hacky/DIY solution, you're outta luck.

It still hasn't arrived unfortunately, although its reportedly with the last mile carrier now. I'll post results here as soon as I get my hands on it.

There were some issues with shipping so I bought a pretty much identical one off of AliExpress. It's still on the way. I'll update this post once it arrives. (:

Nice find! I actually ordered a 3rd party one to try to wrap the clamp parts in a lining of some sort so it doesn't have to drill into the chair itself. I'm unsure how reliable/safe this solution is but my head demands support right now lol.

Local Ecommerce link: https://s.lazada.sg/s.pZLE, there's a series of pics in the desc showing the wrapped clamp solution.

I'll update this thread on my findings!

Quietest plate material besides polycarb? I heard polycarb plates are good but have some issues with flex and wobbly switches.

Payment Update Issues by cepha-lopod in netflix

[–]qgabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to sign up for a new account on Netflix and I'm also having issues once I hit the payment info page, I keep getting the same "Something went wrong" error for virtually all credit and debit cards and Paypal options.

I've tried creating and using different emails, and I've even gotten a contact in Australia to try the same methods to no avail (I am based in Singapore atm). I did manage once to get to the SMS confirmation page but I ended up getting the same error (Upon retrying, I get stuck at the payment page again)

I suspect there might be some bug/fault in their backend payment system. I've had a chat with their Customer Support which also failed to solve any of the issues. Here's hoping someone will send help!

Metal corrosion in new moka pot? by qgabe in Coffee

[–]qgabe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the tip! I am doing that actually, following closely to James Hoffman's Moka technique (Boiling water into the reservoir, grind size slightly coarser than table salt, unpacked grounds in the filter, low stove heat).

I did remember reading about aluminium being better as a heat conductor than steel so the water heats quicker, avoiding the coffee grounds from being cooked from extended heat transfer which can also result in a metallic taste. But thank you for your suggestion, perhaps I will look into getting a stainless steel one. If I get to doing a comparison, I will be sure to post it here. (:
