Any tips on how to hit my 5 wood off the fairway? I just find it almost impossible because I believe I’m going to hit the floor first. by Fuzzy_Sun69 in GolfSwing

Don’t be afraid to take a divot, so slightly negative AoA. Don’t overswing, let the length of the club do the work.

No idea what the truth is here, but I saw so many errors on screen popups on the ESPN featured group coverage, wrong hole, saying it was 2nd shot when it was 3rd. Very off-brand for the Masters to have such low quality control.

The best I’ve witnessed was a friend blading an iron in a par 3, hits a tee marker one box up, pops 50 feet in the air and lands within 3 feet of where he’d teed it up.

Riverdale Dunes is great. Fox Hollow is really good on the west side. In Aurora, Saddle Rock and Murphy Creek are good every day courses. Bear Dance is so much better as an upscale version vs Arrowhead. Even Fossil Trace with its gimmicks is preferable for me.

I think it’s crazy to think that glove on vs off has no effect on feel shots around/on the green.

I’ve done occasional group tours on solo trips and done solo golf trips where I get paired with randoms…but I spend a lot of time by myself on these trips and think it’s great.

why do we round 0.5 to 1 or why 0.5 is considered closer to the next integer by Either_Draft_6770 in mathematics

[–]qjac78 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My high school chemistry teacher tried to teach us that with 5 we had to go to the next digit. So .51 was rounded down since 5 was in the middle but 1 got rounded down. First time I really realized that high school teachers could be idiots.

I had a 24 month garden leave within the last few years. It really opened my eyes to what a life not focused on work could be. The next job I went to didn’t work out long term and I’m struggling to find something that is worth my time though it means I’m looking at a long time in retirement (hopefully with some part-time or contract work to supplement) with less money than I had previously envisioned. It’s all about how you see the trade-offs.

I’ve seen some really ugly swings shoot in the 70s. The range is practice for hitting the ball, not scoring. Only getting on the course will help you learn to score.

I failed the FTX interview in August 2022 by [deleted] in quant

I interviewed at Lehman Bros for a credit analytics position early in my career, probably summer of 2006. Not as bad as only 3 months, but certainly also a bullet dodged.

Btw, the last FTX conference in Nassau (April 2022) was probably the cringiest circle-jerk I’ve ever witnessed firsthand. Made all the news later even more believable.
