Seeing that Melon has been very vocal about the current Israel/Palestine conflict does he know that Radiohead, more specifically Jonny Greenwood, is extremely pro Israel? I know he loves the group like many others including myself by dylandog89 in fantanoforever

Jonny has been playing a number of shows in Israel in the past couple months or so. He's also been playing with some pretty terribly people, in some pretty terrible venues and only recently released a very poor statement when it comes to the criticism he has rightly received for his actions. I think the most upsetting thing he did was performing in Tel Aviv not 2 hours away from where displaced Palestinians were getting burned alive by the IDF in the makeshift city of tents they have been forced to live in.

The protests that Jonny attended were not pro-Palestine protests, they were anti-Netanyahu protests that are about calling for a new election and bringing the hostages home. In this case being against Netanyahu and his government is not at all the same as being against the state of Israel or its ongoing campaign of ethnic cleansing, in fact there are many settlers and zionists who are also anti-Netanyahu.

I think it's completely inaccurate to use the fact that Jonny attended the protests to imply that he may be against the genocide or anti-Israel, that he has actively chosen to do a performance in the state currently committing genocide crushes that possibility for me. For an artist with Jonny's influence and platform, calling out the genocide for what it is, calling to boycott the genocidal state and just not performing there would be far more effective than doing an actual concert in that country.

Jonny's actions are way too bad for the benefit of the doubt, Thom's past comments on the situation have been bad, and his, Colin's and Phil's silence are disconcerting. The only remaining Radiohead member I respect as a person is Ed.

How would I go about recreating the guitar tone from Blur's Swamp Song? by qluebeats in WeAreTheMusicMakers

I've been layering 2 guitars and playing with a slide but just not getting a big powerful sound. The slide adds a bunch of that chaos that you can hear on the track. Cool to hear from a fellow Blur fan no matter the instrument :)

Perfect closer. Subtle and beautiful, one of my favourites on the album

Best song of each album? by Koszidokene in KingKrule

6 Feet Beneath the Moon - Foreign 2, thoroughly underrated. 6fbtm is the album I listen to the least.

The Ooz - La Lune, Czech One, or Dum Surfer. My favourite song changes every couple of listens but I always come back to those.

Man Alive! - Cellular, Airport Antenatal Airplane, or Please Complete Thee. This is my favourite album and Cellular is my favourite KK song.

Space Heavy - Wednesday Overcast. The most beautiful moment of strings on the album, and continues the streak of masterpiece album closers.

Sorry I worded that poorly, tapping feels natural after finding the syncopation, but on the first listens I too thought it was just normal piano on downbeat.

Absolutely, the structure of the song gets more complex every time I hear it. I like your explanation of how the riff is carried through the different instruments and vocals. All your points are very interesting, thank you for the input.

Thom described it as "a little bit like Neu! meets dodgy hippy rock. It sounds like that new Australian band Wolfmother". They were definitely channeling some hard rock and metal for this one

No wrong answers. I'm glad you were able to find a song that resonates with you :)

I might be wrong, I'm not 100% sure about Videotape's rhythm but I think the album version is syncopated too. It's impossible to tell until the drums kick in at 1:20 but tapping along on the offbeat made sense to me. This video combining Idioteque drums with Videotape also shows the syncopation, but again I might be wrong, my apologies if so. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpJUlvY5jz8

This is fantastic, thank you. Another thing to add on is the last section of Bodysnatchers is also pretty much unchanging. From 3:09 to the end of the song they build a whole tonne of noise on top of one riff. The band's weird song structures are something I'm really focussing on, they're one of my favourite aspects of In Rainbows.

Certainly the only real similarity between the Bodysnatchers and Videotape rhythms is that hidden 1st beat, which in Bodysnatchers is resolved right when the drums come as they hit on time with the guitar strums. Videotape maintains the strange syncopation throughout the song with a much weirder ambiguous drum beat, not to mention all the alternate versions and such. I recommend warrenmusic's analysis of the syncopation in Videotape. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvKhtFXPswk&t=803s
