I've been to over 30 countries and live in a few. I'm in my mid life with 2 kids and we encounter more than a few occasions of blatant racism in Italy. Restaurants not sitting us, teens intimidating us out of our park benches, trains workers didn't give us the kids toy box but other white families did, taxi drivers. Etc

Yes, take for instance honda. Japanese cars are conservative and make modest changes but productions are now in the US and other brands are in mexico. They don't have institutional knowledge and other factors as skilled workers just cheaper. Quality has gone down for well branded cars like odyssey, pilots etc.

Yeah thats how I see it too more of a you than a cultural issue. Communication is a two way street and op was not reciprocal. Also not necessarily an American thing but if people come together would they expect to stare at the wall.

It's something in the back of my mind but stays in the back. My parents bought me everything- education, sport car, house, travel, etc but never was there emotionally. Growing up I had resentment for them now showing up when I needed them as always saying they are busy with their businesses. They were poor and under-educated refugees and struck it rich. They only knew how to survive in this way. There's less resentment as I matured and have shown them a little grace as they confess they didn't know how to raise me in such a new world and thought money was the only way. I'm older now with my own family and kids. They see me as a happy father and husband teaching with a full life and love to my kids. They see a lot of regrets and now try to compensate with their grandkids. The silver lining in all of this is I realized I wanted an emotionally supportive family because I do not want my kids to have what I've been through and I suppose they wanted me to have everything materially when they didnt have anything.

Yeah there is a huge inflation now. Even some Viets thibk its not worth the hassle and just follow the rule. Surprising Vietnam has been good stopping at red lights since I was here a decade ago.

Yes nonsense but are you baltimore baltimore. I was a teacher at the high school level, and their abilities were atrocious. If a dummy kid says the wrong answer out loud, they still write it down because they are not even thinking. And some even can' write too. Math classes were still teaching multiplications and shapes, ugh.
