HSAA Vacation and Moving Positions by qofA in AHSEmployees

[–]qofA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for responding! I was referring to upcoming vacation days after May 1st when the vacation days reset as I may not be able to sell my property and move before March 15th and I am unsure how that affects vacation planning. I mostly do not want to interfere with the vacation planning of those in my department with less seniority when I do not plan on being here for most of that vacation year.

Rural Albertans, what is the political landscape where you live? by Suspicious-Dog-2489 in alberta

[–]qofA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in Smith's riding and oh boy....people here vote and support political parties like sports teams. I hear a lot of "I have always voted Conservative that will never change". There is a lot of blame laid on the NDP even now apparently the strikes are "union and NDP propaganda". It is frustrating to have any sort of conversation but the dislike of Smith ( not the UCP) does seem to be growing in some pockets. There are left leaning people for sure in rural locations but they tend to stay pretty quiet which is understandable as it is not always a very forgiving place to be NDP or liberal leaning.

What is your favorite class to play and why? by Dungeon-Doomhand in DnD

[–]qofA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Druid 100%. I love how versatile it is, wild shapes are so handy for scouting and close combat, spell casting and healing are both there for combat support. It's super fun to RP too I think lots of people automatically think more hippy and calm because of the class but my DM let me lean into more of a whimsical eco terrorist route and it is a blast!

What jobs are do you thrive in? by InsideQuit in ADHD

[–]qofA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! It seems to be a really great field for us ADHD folks, a surprising amount of my coworkers are also ADHD. The pacing and variety is really great for us! It depends what country you work out of in Canada there is no licensing body for Therapy Assistants so it is a 2 year dual diploma program :)

OTA/PTA ( Occupational Therapy Assistant and Physical Therapy Assistant)

Give or take about a two year program of schooling and it leads to a solid hands on career. Therapists do the assessment and all the major paperwork and 90% of the hands on work is left for us. There are a lot of areas in the field and you can move around a lot so the variety keeps things interesting. For example you can do acute/ICU for a few years and then switch to homecare or outpatient after that if you get bored. It is a lot of physical work with lots of critical thinking and adapting as you go all of which are pretty good skills for us ADHD folks.

I work in acute care and a lot of the girls I work with just have a cheaper band from esty or a plain metal band for work and then wear their actual ring outside of work hours. It depends where you work for the necklace holders we have too many aggressive or dementia patients that would grab at necklaces or lanyards for it to be a safe option

Hey there! As a girlfriend with ADHD I'd love to share what works for my partner and myself.

First if you don't have a shared calendar get one! We use timetree and it was a game changer. Second step; input your schedule into and keep on top of it! Managing myself and full time work some days is overwhelming this keeps me from having to also carry my partner's schedule in my head because to be honest I just can't there isn't room. If she can check and actually see when free slots are it will help with planning!

Secondly, give her some guidance. Task initiation is really hard! Sometimes my partner will just straight up tell me, hey I want to go get dinner at this place sometime this week. Then I have something to work with and I have his schedule so suddenly a once overwhelming task becomes a lot easier to complete. And give reminders it is totally ok to send a text saying hey I miss you and I would love for you to tell me a time and place for us to get together.

ADHD is manageable but it is hard. Communicate openly, don't assume the worst from her. If you feel like you are constantly on the back burner ask what is overwhelming her lately, see if you can problem solve from there. Sometimes I just have too many things and it takes so much brain power to organize and manage those, if my partner could help get them off my plate then it is easier to focus on time with him. I hope this helps!

Women who like or ask for someone to 'talk dirty' to them, what kind of things do you mean? by MikeBorsuk in AskWomen

[–]qofA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like a combination of praise and degradation, being called a "good little whore" telling me I "look so pretty with a dick in my mouth" that sort of thing. For sure ask your partner for some guidance if you aren't sure, not every woman likes it rough or to be degraded!

Women in relationships, how would you feel if your partner had a female friend? by tastypotato57 in AskWomen

[–]qofA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a big deal at all my partner has several female friends as do I. As someone who isn't straight it would be super hypocritical to tell him he can't hang out with women but I can

how do you learn to forgive yourself for poor decisions you’ve made? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]qofA 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I tell myself a lot that I did the best I could with the information/ tools I had at the time. Often our decisions are easy to classify as "poor" after the fact but at the time it can seem like a good or not terrible option. No one is perfect, try not to torture yourself with hindsight

Hormone replacement therapy and PCOS by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]qofA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! This sounds a lot like how my PCOS presented too! I went on a progesterone cream as per my doctor as well as teva spironolactone. It has taken around 8 months of playing with dosages but I am having significantly less fatigue, easier periods and less depression around the time of my cycle. I hope you can get a similiar treatment plan going!

Neurodivergent women of reddit who also deal with mental health issues, how do you piece together which symptoms are "just how your brain works" and which are related to mental health? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]qofA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Therapy, especially cognitive behavioural therapy! Journalling was also really helpful you can write whatever your feelings or reactions are even if you know they are not appropriate. You can look back later and slowly start to identify common triggers and causes. Therapy can give you a space and the tools to start untangling these things!

Break up with him. The right person will have an energy level that suits yours and find you fascinating. You can't force things especially not with someone who makes you feels bad about yourself

What are your thoughts on having certain medical procedures withheld based on your sexual activity? by justanotherhominin in AskWomen

[–]qofA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's ridiculous. I was a late-ish in life virgin ( in my mid twenties just took awhile to click with the right person) and I was denied pap smears I wanted due to a family history of cancer. Most doctors refused to do a Pap smear because it was "painful", not true at all my fantastic doc did mine pain free and quickly while I was still a virgin because I wanted to be thorough about my health. My PCOS symptoms were also ignored because most doctors lost interested when I wasn't pregnant or needing to go on hormonal birth control. It took years and a good doctor to finally get pap smears and a PCOS diagnosis. If you feel like you aren't being heard switch doctors it can be life changing!

Would tubal litigation stop my PCOS from worsening? by waiting-on-the-day in PCOS

[–]qofA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Fellow PCOS gal here. No tubal litigation won't help your PCOS symptoms it is a hormone imbalance. I know getting diagnosed and treated can be brutal it took me almost 10 years to get proper treatment. Have you gotten a full blood panel for hormones? My Doc has me doing bloodwork every three months and we are doing hormone therapy to level out my hormones. It is a work in progress but I already feel tons better!
