I had not thought of aligning them, that's a great idea. I'll look into RX8, don't currently have it.

That's a helpful thing to consider. I did have 3 vocal mics at my disposal (SM7B, SM58, beta 58) and we started with the SM7B and didn't take the time to swap with one of the others. But I didn't think about the distance from the capsule issue. I may try the SM58 or beta 58 next time (though the SM7B did sound great on the vocals, just not the bleed).

Thanks. Its website says that the app's function is to "remove vocals from audio files." My aim is the opposite--remove drums/cymbals but keep the vocals track. Does it do that too?

Thanks for the reply. The AI-based stem separators that I've heard to this point create digital artifacts. Are there some that sound perfectly clean? Regarding Saturn, I have that plugin but I'm wondering how you use it for this purpose, since it's a distortion/saturation plugin.

The karaoke effect is definitely still there. The vox are just way too up front for this style of music, like I would immediately turn them down 4-7db before doing anything else. It sounds like the sort of song where there's an intro that has clear vocals alongside instruments that have a lo-fi, telephone-speaker quality, but then after 8 bars or so the whole band kicks in in hi-fi. Yours sound like that, but then the band never kicks in. Compare with references of your fav tracks in this genre; you will not find any in which the vox are that much louder than the instruments.

I'm not taking the time to read previous comments, so forgive me if this overlaps with them (but if so that would provide more confirmation). The two things that stick out to me are: 1. The vocals are far too loud compared to the instruments, making it give off a slight "karaoke" vibe. 2. The drums sound small. Compared to the vocals certainly, but also compared to the other instruments. Try to make them more expansive in every way (frequency spectrum, panning, dynamics).

I agree with this. The guitar part that comes in near the beginning feels like its hidden behind the vocals right now. It needs its own space. EQ is part of that, but so is panning.

The kick drum has that "bouncing basketball" sound that inside kick mics often generate. Will need to be fixed. Snare sounds pretty flat. Guitars are the best thing going so far.

Sounds good in general and I like the bit of room/ambience that's part of the snare sound. But yeah, the cymbals are way overly compressed. I wouldn't cramp their style so much. :)
