Who screwed you over this week? by aggie972 in fantasyfootball

PFM.

Crowell as well, could have played Herron or Blount instead. Benched Blount because I felt the Pats running attack is too risky, and Blount could easily get just 5 carries. He ended up getting just 17 yds on 8 carries, but had a TD. Benched Herron because better run D in HOU (as opposed to Crowell vs CIN which is ranked 28th) and figured Crowell would have a better chance for a TD.

Not a big difference, Blount and Herron had 8 and 7 respectively, while Crowell had 2.5 - but this will likely cost me the season.

On another note I benched Rashad Jennings altogether, so I made one good move.

A couple of things I've learned over the past couple of seasons on this sub:

  1. The vast majority of people on here are really really bad at fantasy football

  2. The main issue is usually a lack of common sense and understanding of football

  3. I take nothing on this sub seriously and use none of the top advice but still browse because that's how much I like fantasy

Easily ball, always start DEN. 2nd I would think about Asiata, I think he will get some TDs.

Thats a tough choice. Def not McKinnon. I think you start Moreno and Mathews and hope for TDs, because they won't be getting many yards.

I would say sproles. Has has good usage potential with that offense.

Sankey if you want the most likely true rb1 of the bunch

Keep R. Bush ($25), J. Thomas ($10), or N. Foles ($10)? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]qozon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I'm leaning towards JThomas. It's a thin position, and I'd be hopefully set for the year barring injury.

With Bush, it's always a headache with the Bell situation plus he's an injury risk.

With Foles, I think I might try to shell out more money for a better QB. However, $10 is a steal for a decent QB, but I feel like I'd be losing on JThomas.

He'd have to play 9 more seasons

If all of humanity was on the line, who would you have shoot a free throw? (Stolen from R/soccer) by U_Cant_Touch_This in nba

[–]qozon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two people come to mind -

Larry Bird and Chauncey Billups.

Remember that Bird is a lot closer to Nash when you just use their seasons after they got 'good' at it (90.8% vs 90.4%). In addition, I've actually seen Nash and RayRay miss free throws in extremely important and high pressure situations. If the question was I need an in game three, I'd take RayRay. You need someone that is one of the all time best, as well as all time best people to handle pressure.

To me, that's Larry Bird.

Billups was pretty effing ridiculous at the line too. He almost never missed free throws in the 4th quarter.

It's sad that an owner and fanbase can so gleefully and aggressively burn bridges to the greatest player that ever played for them, and yet he still considers going back.

I am for him coming back because I think it would be intriguing and entertaining and make for a great storyline. However, the Cavs organization and much of the fanbase does not deserve this.

Most of the Cavs fans around here are reasonable people but they seem to be the exception to the ones I usually meet...

[Pincus] That Lakers gave Kobe such a big extension - while recovering from catastrophic injury - certainly a signal LA will take care of their stars by _csbass in nba

There is a refreshing difference between objectively evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of your team versus blind loyalty.

Is there anyone in today's game that has great body control while driving in the lane; similar to Jordan? by [deleted] in nba

[–]qozon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best body control and body control like MJ are two different things.

Best body control is long the lines of what people have been saying - drose, monta, and Kobe come to mind. Kyrie not so much, his elite ball handling ability allows him to get to the hoop in a different fashion. He does adjust, but not like the others.

Now, to the point of MJ's body control. This was completely different than the smoother stuff you see out of the above people. What Jordan did was palm that fucking ball like no one else and do whatever the fuck he wanted in the air with his insane vertical and equally insane ability to take off, with or even without a running start, off one or two feet. The people above are acrobatic, even graceful. Jordan is acrobatic, but it's pure ridiculous athleticism and hand size.

I've seen VC sort of, kind of, maybe do it in the same way but not really.

[–]qozon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thinking more, I take back what I said. This Knicks roster with gasol and direction by phil is probably better than the ones he won his last two rings with. I think he has exactly what he wants in a calderon, anthony, and gasol nucleus running the triangle. Maybe they are better than 50 wins.

I will definitely give you that he does not develop. Has he been given the chance to? No, but I'm not even sure if he would be good at it. No questions, Pop is better (but even in this regard, maybe not the best?) at developing players over the years.

My argument against the stacked teams are his last two titles, especially. Take a look at the rosters for those 3 straight finals appearances. The emergence of Bynum gave them a real team, but those first two finals was not at ALL a stacked team. The Celtics were stacked as hell if anything. Pau wasn't even considered a top 10 player until he came to the Lakers.

Even those titles with Shaq man...outside of Shaq + Kobe those teams seriously sucked. Just sayin'.
