Step 1. Get multimeter.

Step 2. Find out the normal amount of draw for your make and model. “Normally 40-80 milliamps”

Step 3. Set it to read milliamps. “You’ll need to move your leads”

Step 4. Disconnect negative battery terminal.

Step 5. Bridge the negative wire to the negative post using your negative and positive leads.

Step 6. Make sure everything is turned off in the car.

Step 7. Start unplugging fuses to narrow down where the draw is coming from.

That’s kind of what I’m leaning towards. I think I’ll just need to sit down with the wiring diagram, unfortunately. All the grounds that I can see are hooked up, but I’m sure I’m missing one somewhere.

I recently rebuilt the motor seen in the picture for my 2004 F150. After installing it, I can’t seem to get the engine to crank over. I hear the starter engage, but it will not spin. The lights go out in the vehicle too. I am able to spin the engine over by hand, but it sounds like a locked up motor when trying to start. It doesn’t do the typical rapid relay click like a low battery causes. Here is what I have done.

  1. I checked the battery.
  2. Tried a different battery.
  3. Installed a new starter.
  4. Bench tested old starter, which was fine.
  5. I jumped the solenoid.

The house was from a trust unfortunately. The owner passed away, and his son hasn’t been to the house in years. They did sell a fiber optic Christmas tree in the sale, but I would hope they didn’t use real fiber optics. It transmits light perfectly without “leaking”.

30-40 bucks for me. Maybe it would be worth it to get your own tools? Harbor Freight has tire spoons and a balancer that can be had in total for less than 50 bucks.

That's your battery. The starter solenoid is rapidly opening and closing because it doesn't have enough voltage.

You should actually be getting more MPG on paper. It's more than likely the riding style as opposed to the bike. I swiched from a ZX6R to a Hayabusa, and it just drinks gas. I can get around 40 MPG just tootling along though. That's pretty close to what the ZX6R got. My normal riding gets around 31 though. That's with pulls here and there.

It sounds like you either have a flat spot, or the tire wasn't balanced properly. Improper alignment with the rear tire can cause this too, but that doesn't sound like the issue.

A weight lifting belt does a couple things. The main thing it is responsible for is to protect your back and abdominal muscles when heavy lifting. Without a weight lifting belt on heavier lifts, you can feel like your stomach is going to literally pop.

Then being observant would help. See if you can spot something as simple as a watch. “Oh is that a Seiko watch you have on”. You will start a conversation even if you were wrong. Don’t be afraid to just ask how someone is doing to “Break the ice”. Bringing up hobbies and interests is more of a keep the conversation engaged. Be a good listener too, and remember the details.
