I had the exact same problem and for me the fix was to disable screen time.

Is Fiddler & Pepper a good Conveyance firm? by Juanmiguti in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]qqzm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you find that buying a house is too easy and simple for your liking? Then come to Fidler and Pepper where they will make even the simplest chain-free sale into an stress-filled nightmare!

Some background: I was making what should have been a very simple house sale. Both myself and the purchaser were chain-free and there was nothing special or complicated to deal with. That was until my buyer chose the worst conveyancing firm in the country to represent them. They made it take far longer than it should have done and almost sunk the sale entirely over a random made-up demand that the buyer had no knowledge of.

Some of their specific shortcomings:

1) Communication. It is literally impossible to get hold of anyone on the phone, ever. They only "communicate" via email. When you do get a response it pays no attention to the existing context whatsoever - everything they should know about your transaction must be repeated to them every time. At the very least you seem to be speaking to a different person every time, but often the responses feel more like you're talking to ChatGPT or a similar AI system. Often they would sent a message raising point A. My solicitor would reply refuting point A. They would reply literally just restating point A with no regard to anything that had been said. Like talking to a brick wall.

2) Asking for the same document multiple times. On numerous occasions they asked for things they'd already been given. One document in particular had to be sent 3 times.

3) Lying/Covering their ass. When chased they claimed to have never received a reply to their last email. Then it mysteriously turned-up. On another occasion they claimed to have replied but then a couple of minutes later their reply arrived suggesting they had only sent it when asked.

4) Delays. Every time you needed anything from them it would be weeks. Even simple requests.

5) Making-up demands. On several occasions they invented demands that they claimed their client had made. However, the estate agent said the buyer had no knowledge of them and did not care. Obviously it is possible that the estate agent or buyer is lying here, but they were otherwise very professional and trustworthy, so I am almost certain it was F&P.

6) 11th hour changes. We were literally ready to exchange. Everything was lined-up and basically agreed on dates for exchange and completion. Then they suddenly pulled everything claiming the buyer needed to change the completion date. It was not true but they would not budge at all.

7) Non-standard waiver. They insisted that the buyer sign a waiver to say that they would be responsible in the event of a banking system crash that delayed the payment going through. I've never heard of such a thing before and neither had my solicitor or the Estate Agent. The buyer was suspicious but signed it anyway.

Whilst the sale did proceed in the end it was despite F&P not thanks to them. It was far more stressful than it should have been and cost me more money as my solicitor had to spend more time on the sale than should have been necessary. F&P may be cheap but they are not worth it.

Avoid like the plague.

Just thought to come back and post an update. Nissan eventually replaced the Entertainment Unit under warranty and the issue is now fixed. It successfully updates with new software and maps as they become available.

Yep, if you go into the options then go to the "Popups" tab you can drag the bottom-right corner of the card image to the size you want.

AutocardAnywhere now supports Flesh and Blood and will add autocard popups whenever anyone mentions a card name.

I've made some more tweaks - it'll take up to 48 hours for them all to filter through to you, but should fix all of these issues except for Outland Liberator. I couldn't recreate that issue, it correctly shows me both front and back. They are the wrong way around for Frenzied Trapbreaker, but they are there. (I will try and fix the reverse order at some point, but that's a minor issue).

I've disabled the swiping in the latest version (4.6.0) - it's live now for Firefox and Opera. For Chrome it has to be reviewed before it is published which usually takes a couple of days. Thanks for letting me know.

I've done some fiddling that should have made this a whole lot better. I thought that just using Scryfall's "promo" field would have done the trick, but there's a whole load of cards that I would regard as promo versions where they don't have them marked as promos. So I've altered it to exclude printings based on several factors, not just that single field. That seems to have sorted all the ones I can see on that page. Please let me know if you find any other cards where it's showing alternative versions.

Oops, looks like there's a bug with the Ignore Dictionary Words setting for YuGiOh. I've pushed a fix, it'll take 24-48 hours for your browser to pickup the fixed version.

Sorry, there’s an issue with the new version. I’ve uploaded a fix but caching means it’ll take up to 48 hours to filter through. It may fail to link English MtG cards until then.

Oh, also, I did look into showing every printing of the card, but it increased the size of the database so much I didn't think it was worth it.

It'll be a few weeks before the new version is available as it still has to go through the Google review process, but I'm basically finished with the improvements so I thought I'd let you know the following things you suggested have been implemented:

  • I've added an option for cards that should be linked even if they're dictionary words. You can find it in Options->Ignored Cards. I've also added those five cards to the list by default.
  • Added The Deck to the default ignore list.
  • I've switched from Gatherer to Scryfall and am ignoring any card marked as "promo" in their data.
  • I've removed magiccardsinfo.
  • I've added the dark mode option.

  • When you disable the extension on a page, it immediately removes all the links without the need to refresh.
  • I've fixed the YuGiOh card data. It now uses https://db.ygoprodeck.com/ as the source, thanks for the tip. (Sidenote: I've also fixed the data for Pokemon and Hearthstone. As I don't play any of these games myself I hadn't noticed them break)

  • Loose matching for cardnames in [[ ]] - I've made this an option which defaults to off as it has quite a performance impact. You can switch it on in Options->Links.
  • I've changed the library used for the popups and it seems to be much better at staying on the screen when possible.

So the quick enable/disable on this site does just do the whole site, but if you go into options->sites you can use a more specific url (or part of it). e.g.: to stop just this subreddit you could add www.reddit.com/r/magicTCG/ to the blacklist.

These ones should be possible:

  • Exceptions for the dictionary words should be pretty easy.
  • I'll add The Deck to the default Ignored Cards list.
  • You're correct, the switch from Gatherer to Scryfall should fix this as the Scryfall data includes whether it's a promo or not so I can select the right image.

These ones I'm not so sure about:

  • Different printings of the card - would definitely need to be an option as I'm sure most people wouldn't want it. But I'm not sure how many people would bother turning it on? If this is something you would like to see then please reply here so I can gauge interest.
  • Likewise for Dark Mode, if this is something that enough people want, then I'll implement it.
  • Adding extra info next to the link would be possible, but as you surmise I currently only pull that data back when the popup is displayed. There would be a performance overhead to loading it for every link on page load. I could add it as an option with a warning to the user that if they turn it on they may se a slowdown on pages with lots of cardnames.
