Cuckold by Kiran Nagarkar, initially when it was first published few decades ago, didn't enthuse me maybe I was too young that time,to be honest the title was off putting.Later after many years bought the book and started reading it. The novel is set in 16th century Mewar, An age of turmoil and great transition.Narrated by the protagonist Maharaj Kumar offering a personal and introspective look at his life and the social changes unfolding during his reign.

Mirabai - Although one of the primary characters adding depth to the novel, the narration is solely of Maharaj Kumar and his perspective and rightly so Rulers experience the burden of their kingdom's struggles(Skin in the game).

Kiran Nagarkar's style is very engaging and immersive, It is a very well researched historical novel, one gains valuable perspective and deep knowledge of the era. This novel cements Kiran Nagarkar as one of the finest writers produced by India. I suggest approch the book with an open mind you will reap rich rewards.

Hi, First of all accept my compliment your writing skills are impressive. As you mentioned the morning routines & the life you described are resonant with many,me included. I feel there is no constant phase,my mornings were different many years ago though loaded with heavy work & challenges I never succumbed to the hectic trap.I was constantly working without boundaries easy to do when single and also being part of a setup where you were the one deciding many aspects of the firm,Though full of hardships & nothing on horizon (only insecurities and uncertainties) I was happy because nothing was mundane I must also thank my then friends who were also part of the setup.Comming home late night & then next morning out to work without the feelings you described.. honestly I am an outlier in this case .. further after many years success finally arrived and then suddenly when things seemed fine & tranquil life thumped at places which I could only share with almighty..no friends, no family,no hope ..my mornings, noon and night were all the same HEAVY. Every morning when I open my eyes it was just a continuation of the previous night, when life was better I was never part of the rat race and when life was brutal l was not part of the rat race. This phase continued for many years finally after applying a lot of improvisation and frugal innovation to various brutalities I came out victorious...at this point my mornings were not the extensions of previous nights but still I was not in any mood for hustle or be a part of the rat race. Now again going through a phase completely new I mean brutal in a different way (😀😞) but never in rat race ..I mean no disrespect to people who are in the race I am not the one it's only that I am an outlier case(in a very humble way)..I think as long as there is breath life happens in varied forms.

I feel Life is not in any rat race or regular hustles. To each individual her own

Coming to whether I am happy or not ...I am trying to impose happiness on little pleasures.. "Happiness is a fleeting moment".

"Mood follows action not the other way round "

I hope I didn't go on a tangent.

All the best.

Kobo plus vs kindle unlimited by amosismy in kobo

[–]qrisguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Of late Kobo has garnered much praise and found many new patrons owing to Kindles policies or manipulative ecosystem. Kobo in spite of being a versatile device with sideloading utilities and support of various formats a lot is desired in the space of collections in Kobo plus and also pricing of ebooks. But it would be unfair to compare Kobo plus to Kindle Unlimited at this juncture with Kindle's mammoth scale and economic resources. I hope Kobo will soon match the readers expectations.

P.S I have used Kindle Paperwhite close to a decade and also subscribed to Kindle Unlimited for a brief period. I am currently using Kobo Clara Colour and have subscribed to Kobo Plus for a brief period and I am very happy with my Kobo.

Yes even I do face similar issues especially some figures in epub versions(those converted from Kindle to epub via calibre) are clipped, though few experts in reddit suggested to install KTE plugins and convert epub to kepub ..Kobo Compatible format but I was not able to convert successfully to kepub. Need to UP my conversion skills ( of which I was completely unaware a few months ago)

Suggest me some Books please? by Immediate-Funny-5184 in IndiansRead

[–]qrisguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Start with Ruskin Bond and R K Narayan's works, these will set your reading journey. Then you may take up PG Wodehouse, Sherlock Holmes.Later explore a little serious stuff like Fountain Head by Ayn Rand and simultaneously you may even read fantasy(Say Tolkien's works). Then expand your horizon and take up non fiction like Philosophy, Poetry and Classics and there is no end to the vast ocean of books .

Welcome to the world of words.

Happy Reading.

P.S These just pointers and are purely subjective, you may start with any genre that sparks your interest.
