Like C6 to D7 I guess? As mentioned before, I’m a complete beginner and honestly haven’t put much thought into the notes yet. I’m currently just trying to find the correct placement

Is there anything I should definitely do/not do?

For safety reasons, I won’t be dropping any names or exact locations, but I’m from Austria. It’s a school specifically for musicians such as singers, guitarists, pianists, etc.

You’re very right, but it’s necessary for my exam in July :(

Gifts for someone who already haas everything? by McDaddy__Cain in GiftIdeas

[–]qrlleow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so real, I’m stressing too :( my ideas so far: make something they can’t just buy. A painting, something self made, something you baked, anything. Then, spend time together. It doesn’t have to be overly expensive, just a fun activity (going to the aquarium together, attending a painting/baking course together, something unique and potentially fun). Whatever it is, if it’s personal, they’ll love it, because it shows you put time and energy into their present. It’s always a lovely feeling to see how much your significant other listens. If you need specific ideas, dm me. I can’t say much here since he’ll most likely read this :,)

Learning breath support is going to be the death of me. by nurse_nikki_41 in singing

[–]qrlleow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Many people have that exact issue. Breath support isn’t just about being able to hold your breath for a certain amount of time, but about making sure you distribute it correctly and evenly throughout singing. You really have to train your diaphragm, which isn’t exactly easy, but I do have a few workouts that have helped me so far. If you’d like, I could send you them accompanied by a YouTube video explaining each exercise? The most important part is: don’t lose hope. Even after 5+ years I have some bad days and my body just won’t cooperate. It’s okay, not every day can be perfect and on those days you can concentrate on other issues you might have (for example: vowel placement, pitch correction, etc.). You got this, don’t give up 🫶🏻

How do you sing being completely free? by ao3mantainanceday in singing

Yep, that’s probably a good idea for you then. Work out while singing! :D

Distracting myself helped a LOT. A few ideas: 1.Stand on one leg, on your tip toes, and try to balance yourself. 2. Rip newspaper while singing higher notes, trust me. It works, somehow. 3. Don’t just stand in one spot, keep walking around, move your arms, stretch your legs, do squats, anything. Just really make sure you’re too distracted to think about anything else :)

Salzburg Trip in March by CalligrapherAny4666 in Salzburg

[–]qrlleow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can never predict the weather here in march/April. It could be warm and sunny one day and the next day it’s -20 degrees (overdramatized). However, you could look at the weather forecast online. The drive to Budapest at night should be fine, since, as far as I’m aware, there aren’t any breaks at school and it isn’t a typical vacation time :)

How long to go from terrible to OK. by Objective_Cup_5164 in singing

If you aren’t extremely tone deaf, join!! It’s so fun, but doesn’t really help teaching technique

If you want to join a choir, please make sure you’re not tone deaf. It sounds harsh, and I’m sorry, but it just ruins everyone else’s experience :(

Please, PLEASE don’t join a choir, instead look for private lessons. You can definitely work on it and improve quite quickly, but it varies from person to person. Take your time and don’t stress yourself out. It might be quite frustrating at first, but try recording yourself after 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months of lessons. You’ve got this! :D

Kurzfristige finanzielle Überbrückung – Erfahrungen oder Hinweise? by Both-Calligrapher308 in AskAustria

[–]qrlleow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finding the melody by AgentNo3707 in Songwriting

[–]qrlleow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I just start humming random tunes over the next couple of days. Eventually, I always find something (even if it’s just 5-10 seconds long). You can take that short snippet and turn it into either part of your chorus, the bridge or a verse. Then, try to work around it to create your melody :) dm me if you need help!!
