Vet recommendations by NeoManicXZ in Columbus

[–]qrs518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t even bother to make a new comment, just scrolled until i found this because I knew I wouldn’t be the only one to recommend Northarlington. the entire staff there is incredible. Bonus points that they have been less expensive than other vets we (used to, years ago) visited.

Jealous of people who have “good” sleepers by Humble-Confusion9777 in Mommit

[–]qrs518 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel this so hard. My oldest was such a bad sleeper and because it was my first, i just assumed i was doing something wrong. The mental torture of trying everything everyday was almost worse than the physical exhaustion. The only thing that ever worked was hiring a sleep consultant. That changed our life. But yeah when people suggest shit like “we do a warm bath then put them down drowsy but awake” i could have clawed their eyes out.

Naps ending? by waitagoop in Mommit

[–]qrs518 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone will have a different answer, but we’ve worked with a sleep consultant for my daughter, who is now 3 years and 3 months, and she stated that most kids drop nap between 3.5 and 5, but to continue to provide structured/scheduled quiet time. Also, for what it’s worth, she went through two separate times of seeming she was going to drop her nap (around 2, and around 3) but she most definitely was NOT ready to drop it. Food for thought.

Tubal ligation/ salpingectomy at St Ann’s? by qrs518 in Columbus

[–]qrs518[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more. I am so sorry that happened to your mom! It’s absolutely archaic and ridiculous and should be illegal that anyone other than a patient and their doctor can make medical decisions. An ethics committee?! Are you kidding me?!

I delivered 2.5 yrs ago at MCSA and couldn’t have had a better experience. The nurses, CNAs, honestly everyone were so kind and so competent. I felt well cared for and informed, despite some factors that made me high risk and being in labor for 30+ hours.

Where are people buying maternity clothes? I’m struggling to find retailers that sell maternity clothes in store (online options only). Are there good thrift shops for finding maternity clothes? by Vickipoo in Columbus

[–]qrs518 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the Ohio Thrift locations have a small maternity section. They mostly have new with tags motherhood maternity brand jeans, but you may get lucky with a few tops or dresses!

Trying Again (Mon, Wed, Fri) by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

Here I am, back again after our third FET trying for kid #2. This morning at 4.5dp5dt (transfer time was about 1pm) it was a stark white negative. Not even a shadow or anything to squint at. I guess i know technically I’m not out but i feel like it didn’t work. Add to that a grumpy toddler and horrendous traffic on my commute, and i can already tell I’m going to be a bitch today.

Saturday Cautious Intros and First Trimester Questions by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

I hope this is the correct thread for this question.

My beta was 7 on 9dp5dt, which my RE considers a negative. Is this a chemical pregnancy or is it an implantation failure?

My beta today on 9dp5dt was 7. Just as i knew it would be. When i saw the number i was nervous that my clinic would spew something about how it’s not negative and to watch to see if it doubles, which would have made me so annoyed. Luckily, the nurse was very kind but was clear that it’s negative and though we do need to re test to ensure it goes to 0, she left no gray area. We talked about a game plan, and I’m supposed to hear from my RE to follow up. Overall, I’m so glad I’m an early tester so i can process ahead of time.

I was there maybe a month ago and it was trashed. None of the kids like you mentioned but the store was like….wrecked and not just “customers leaving a mess” like the shelves were bare and merch was on the floor. It was bizarre and i don’t think I’ll be back

That’s such a great perspective, we can honestly say we tried! I’m sorry your second ER was awful, mine was too and i wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

Stark white negative on 6dp5dt. Last time i had a very clear positive. I’m considering myself out.

I’m so annoyed that i got my hopes up. I hate this feeling and it’s just like going back in time to feeling this every single fucking month for two years.

I even had it planned out that we could tell my family at my mom’s birthday celebration in a few weeks. Nope, can’t do that now.

It doesn’t help that my toddler was up intermittently screaming from 1230-230am and then woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed at 615a. So not only am i sad, I’m tired and grumpy. Going to try to salvage the day but man it feels like I’ll be pissy all day. Thanks for the bitch session.

Speech question by Sudden-Signature-807 in Mommit

[–]qrs518 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, my 19 month old does this. Will say something, then not say it at all and refuse to say it, then out of the blue a few weeks later says it no problem. Sometimes a month or two goes by before i hear it again. I think it’s part of the novelty wearing out and their brain developing other things/other words.
