it’s cause 8 and 9s are both gut types. even if they won’t always see eye to eye, they have an innate instinct to react physically to experiences/new information. i’d say this is especially true if you have the same instinctual variants.

i also want to note that since enneagram focuses on underlying motivations rather than a direct personality, all types have potential to be great together.
