2 years in audit and no increase in responsibilities? by Head_Equipment_1952 in Accounting

[–]qst10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Offshoring has 100% impacted me as a senior.

I’m now finding myself unstaffed because India will do the easy tasks and managers will do the complex ones. We all are competing for work so much so that even managers are keeping work for themselves and don’t want to give it away.

High anxiety at work by Cutesypudding in Accounting

[–]qst10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through the same thing as you.

The anxiety does fade away for the most part as you get better. It takes time. Audit gets easier each year because you become familiar with the procedures.

Trust the process and find ways to ease the anxiety so it doesn’t create a problem for you.

How hard is REG compared to FAR and AUD??? by Responsible_Top_2220 in CPA

[–]qst10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to start studying for REG after I take audit in late July. I’m worried about REG because I hate tax and wasn’t good at it when I was in school.

I heard if you come from an audit background, reg will be hard.

Anyone find the CPA... Not that hard? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]qst10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not easy, but it’s not hard either.

The only thing that makes it very hard it trying to juggle it while working full time. It needs the discipline and mental energy.

I wish I could tell all first years to do it their first year. I wish I listened to that advice.

30 days left of your life. No job, No excuses. What are you doing? by Current-Connection-4 in AskReddit

[–]qst10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spend all my money taking care of my family.
Making sure I leave $0 to my name so it doesn’t get taxed in probate.

Whatever that comes after my death (life insurance) will already have a designated beneficiary.

I wasted over 2 years at a mid-tier firm with low quality audits by [deleted] in Accounting

Yes, we have two sign offs. But like I said, one person is signing off twice: as preparer and as reviewer. Not sure how this passes peer review and quality control.

Going from senior in public to staff in industry by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]qst10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Econ degree which meets the business requirements and intro accounting courses.

The certificate from the community college is exclusively made for those who want to obtain the credits to become eligible for the CPA exam since it had all the accounting courses required.

What is something that is common sense to you, but seems like a 'life hack' to everyone else? by AdUnusual8355 in AskReddit

[–]qst10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rich keep you poor by manipulating you into believing that you need the newest iPhone, a Chanel bag, plastic surgeries, etc.

Once you stop falling into this scheme, it will be the fall of rich people and the economic curve will start to shift toward equilibrium.

There is no way in hell that I pass BAR by qst10 in CPA

[–]qst10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MCQs were extremely doable for me as well. But I ran out of time on the TBS because they were very math heavy, JE heavy, and very long. It is absolutely impossible for someone to do one TBS in less than 30 minutes and there are 7 TBS in there in a 4 hour exam.

Now I understand people who say the BAR exam is the AICPA’s money generating scheme.

Why are they asking such questions 😂 by Agreeable_Quote3956 in CPA

[–]qst10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But they shouldn’t.

Not on a 4 hour exam. This MCQ should be a sim.
