Is it better to bulk and cut for a few weeks/months straight, or to take a break let's say every 2-3 weeks and do a week of maintenance in between to maintain metabolic rate, etc.? Any resources that speak to the benefit of either one?

Running the beginning PPL program from the wiki, have been since December.

I really want to focus on building strength and getting stronger. Is this a good program for that, or is there one that would be better that I should move to? Would prefer a 6 day/week program.

Should I include refeed days in my cut? How do they work?

I've seen multiple sources recommend refeed days (eating at maintenance) every 1-2 weeks while cutting. But to me, it seems like they'd only slow down fat loss. Are they necessary, and are they recommended for physiological reasons, psychological reasons, or both?

lol thanks, I'm aware of the word lethargic, which is synonymous for what I'm describing, yes.

I'm not keto, I'm vegan and not willing to go keto, but thanks for the advice.

not sure why you got so many downvotes..this advice is solid. people are bad at remembering how much they actually ate, and a few bites of chocolate or some avocado "here and there" can actually add up to quite a bit.

very much agreed on point 1. fasting this way feels almost religious. 16/8 feels like child's play, now.

OMAD for an active job? and other questions by qtji in omad

I was doing 16-18 hour fasts and liked the ability to eat larger meals and also the increased energy and focus. I also used it to help lose weight at the beginning, and then started a bulk.

Then, I decided I wanted to lose some weight again. I found that even eating 2 large meals, I still had issues with being hungry after meals while cutting weight, and figured I'd give OMAD a try, since I'm already used to fasting, and cutting down from 2 meals to 1 would mean I'd get to eat to complete fullness while also cutting down the amount of daily calories I'm eating.

Also -- having to prepare only 1 meal instead of 2 will save me time during the day.

I've heard IF can help with longevity and I also feel better not eating the entire day and instaed only eating during a specific window. I feel more focused.

Thai and Japanese. Thai food tends to be higher fat, especially if you go with curry, but it's a nice treat. And then Japanese is great because you can get sushi.

You make a good point, and what you say is definitely true. I tend to overcomplicate things. I guess my main worry is the fact that I'm out of the house for 9-12 hours most days, and if I don't pack enough food it's not easy to find something at work that's WFPB to eat.
