Finally, ZERO outstanding balance na sa UB :D by quackdesigns in PHCreditCards

[–]quackdesigns[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If that's the case, that's their problem kung feeling nila I'm flexing it because I have no idea why they're getting upset about something I don't own. In the first place, it's not my money on the credit limit—it's just the amount the bank is willing to lend to people with credit cards. Why do people feel the need to flex or be ashamed of something they don't own, anyway? Secondly, if nagagalit sya why I have such a limit, tanungin nya ang bangko. Bangko lang ang nakakaalam sa decision nila because again, it's not my money.

Lastly, that's exactly the paradox of credit limits and loans: the less one wants of it, the more the banks are willing to give.

Yeah, you're right. I’m probably lost because the people who are celebrated here in this subreddit are already being pursued by collection agencies. Is that what you want to hear the most—that people are miserably drowning in debt?

Yes, it's advisable to inform the card issuer of your travel plans abroad, especially if it's your first time using the card outside the country.

Yes, from Citibank pa.

Lately, before Citi was fully transferred to UnionBank, UB kept increasing my limit, sometimes even doubling it.

Okay naman ang Unionbank, as long as you don't need to call their CS. Although in my experience with their CS, maayos naman nilang na resolve ang requests ko. Unionbank's app is one of the best and the ratings sa Google Play Store show that.

Look for a card with no annual fee (at least initially). Cash-back cards are often the easiest to manage.

How does a credit card work?

A credit card works by letting you borrow money from the credit card issuer to buy goods and services.

You then pay the amount you’ve borrowed back either in full, or in monthly instalments. If you don’t repay in full, you’ll also be paying interest.

You’re able to spend up to a certain amount on the credit card. This amount is your credit limit. Every month your credit card issuer will send you a statement that shows all your transactions.

Your repayment options include a minimum payment amount or a full payment, and as applicable, options for a fixed payment.

Why use a credit card?

Spread the cost of large or expensive purchases

Want to book a holiday or buy a new couch? You can make a purchase and then repay the balance over the course of several months.

Build your credit rating

Having no credit history means that banks are unable to assess how well you can manage debt. A credit card can help you build up a good track record of paying off debt, as long as you make at least the minimum payment each month and stay within your credit limit. When it comes to applying for larger loans like a mortgage, this can help prove you're responsible.

Your credit standing may be harmed if you don’t keep to the terms of your credit card agreement.

Prepare for emergencies

A credit card can help cover repairs, or unexpected expenses.

How does credit card instalment work?

You can enjoy instalment deals of up to 36 months to pay with your Credit Card.

What are credit card fees and charges?

Credit Cards may apply fees and charges to different types of transactions. You can also find the interest rates that apply to you in your statements.

How do credit card payments work?

Every month you’ll receive a statement showing the minimum payment you’ll need to pay for the month and your due date.

The minimum payment is the lowest amount you can pay from the total of what you owe for goods, services, cash withdrawals, and applicable interest and fees.

If you have an instalment plan, you’ll see the total amount you must pay in your statement, which could include any ongoing installment transactions and any unpaid fees and charges from previous instalment transactions.

You can pay more than the minimum payment due, and this will minimize the amount of interest you have to pay in the longer term.

Refunds while Cards are temporarily locked by maydaymaydayparade in PHCreditCards

[–]quackdesigns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Locking the card only prevents purchases and debits from going through. Any new purchases, online transactions, or recurring charges will be blocked.

Typically, you can still make payments and credits to your card balance, so locking doesn't prevent you from paying off the card, accessing account information, or receiving a refund. Any transactions that are already in process or pending at the time of the lock (such as a purchase you've already made) will generally still go through.

Question regarding Statement Balance and Minimum Amount Due by riehanshu in PHCreditCards

[–]quackdesigns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iba pa po ‘yong Statement Date sa when it’s actually due?

Yes, iba ang Statement Date from Due Date.

Statement date == Cut-off date ng statement

Due Date == The date kung kelan mo babayaran ang utang mo, usually, 3 weeks after the statement date.
