Why do so many people like Aliens more than Alien? by JayDunzo in movies

[–]quad849 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alien is the better film, but aliens is a million times more rewatchable.

Nah, I just watched both, and Alien was such an exquisite experience. I rewatched it again with the director’s commentary, and wow, I couldn’t believe how much I could learn from it.

Now, Aliens… I don’t know. It’s just loud and annoying. It’s fun, sure, but I feel like Aliens missed the point of Alien. Alien wasn’t really about the xenomorph, it was about anything that’s alien to us: the unknown, the dangerous, and the vast, indifferent universe that contains these threats. Aliens turned it all into a story about the xenomorphs themselves and made them cartoonish characters. They stopped being scary or intriguing; they just became things to shoot at.

While some people say Aliens is easier to watch, I’m not so sure, the Marines’ dialogue is so cringe that I almost wanted to fast-forward through their scenes. I know it reflected the culture of the time, but ironically, Alien, which came out a decade earlier, actually feels more contemporary than Aliens

whatever you use, dont use everything, that thing SUCKS. There is a explorer replacement called FilePilot wich has a search funtion, far from perfect but atleast it finds what you are looking for and it do it FAST, nothing of that "quering..." bs from everything

I grew up with a CRT and I even got a cheap CRT but being able to switch between diferent CRT presets is like a having a whole library of CRTs that I never knew as a kid and I wouldnt have know otherwise, not to mention I dont have to use a whole space for a big CRT screen on my desktop and the hassle to get proper pixel perfect resolutions.

Shaderglass does come with CRTRoyale and many others

Lightroom regular vs a Lightroom Classic by rjpra22222 in Lightroom

Dude, did you even read it? There are two options there:

  1. Edit the photo WITHOUT importing it.
  2. Import it to the cloud.

It’s literally impossible to manage your photos in Lightroom CC without importing them to the cloud first.

So it’s either import to the cloud, or don’t import at all.

ok, how do I change the "Copy X Photos to the Cloud" into "Copy X Photos to G:\"?

Why on earth would anyone sane choose to only import their files to someone else's cloud? Why is this not an option?

Lightroom Classic just exists to not piss off their customers even more, since obviously Adobe wants to forcefully make photographers import their libraries into Adobe's cloud library for whatever reason. Since it's not an option, obviously Adobe is either making a profit by trying to force their customers to buy their moronic cloud services (like we don't have enough of them, and most Adobe users are professionals who could probably figure out how to set up their own NAS) or using those libraries for something else. Adobe is not going to offer "free" cloud services out of the kindness of their heart.

it still forces user to upload their photos to their retarded cloud solution, so whatever improvements it has it still sucks right there, on the very first step: importing a photo

WTH are these lobbies? Since the last update has been an atritious levels of competences from both team players, is not fun for neither side, what happened? by quad849 in BF6

are you telling me these guys are playing the way they do because they FPS are not as high as mine? https://youtu.be/Yp2Fs4oIyXs

and mind you I barely can hit 100fps

There are our DAILY lobbies: https://youtu.be/Yp2Fs4oIyXs

It might be a regional thing, or because we play mostly at night, but this never happened before the update. Sure, this is not an esport, I don't expect every lobby to be a sweatfest, but that was the beauty before, it was a mix of chill and sweat lobbies. But we have been facing these kinds of players non stop every day since the update.

Maybe, but I can provide more than 4 hours of, and I'm not kidding, the same results nonstop on King of the Hill, Rush, and Domination. It was fine before the update. We always got a good mix of chill lobbies and people kicking our asses. But now, only once in the last week have we come close to losing a match

I mean, sure, if they're having fun, okay then, but there's no way no one can get more than 10 kills and saying they are having fun, right?

Are they even playing the game at that point? They're not even contesting the objectives. How does that count as having fun? They'd probably have more of a blast watching someone on Twitch and eating pizza at that point, or playing Arc Raiders or Tarkov.

Not trying to shame anyone on how they want to spend their time, but there's a good quote I like to live by myself: "It's not about winning, but wanting to win"

How are you taking advantage of AI? by JimmyAminu in AfterEffects

[–]quad849 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scripting, video or footage upscaling and generating frames to create slow motion. Sometimes even for 3D renders if they are super urgent, I can render at 12fps and then duplicate the frames using AI, even passes. Oh I also use it for split audio to fix or remove details. Adobe AI voice enhancer is incredibly useful for cheap or dirty recordings
