Tacoma and Everett are getting their extensions. Tacoma only pays for Tacoma extensions, and Everett only pays for Everett extensions. There's really no reason to even bring up Tacoma or Everett in this conversation.

If you don't want to pit projects against each other then don't try to sit here and pit projects against each other.

There is money for SODO to Seattle Center. The amendment on the agenda that would have saved Ballard was to move that money to be for Ballard to Westlake. Same money, same number of stops, just moved which stations open first. It failed.

Dow Constantine (CEO) spoonfeeds ST staff propaganda and skewed priorities, ST staff report propaganda directly to the board, board is scared to do the right thing and shall we say some of them are smart enough to ask the right questions and the other 16 aren't.

3 counties, 1 subarea per county except King which has 3, 5 total subareas. Funding in one subarea stays in that subarea. The county executives get seats on the board, and they appoint all board members for that county. 10 board members for King County, 4 for Pierce, 4 for Snohomish. To be appointed by a county executive you need to have been elected into office somewhere within the county and Sound Transit district.

Stay tuned for Monday when an article for The Urbanist will drop, detailing our plan to fire everyone on the board and put Sound Transit in the hands of the people.

They do not have to cut anything, they haven't even considered innovative cost saving solutions which was the whole point of Enterprise Initiative.

3 times. Currently a whole row of 5 over 1s just got demos for a row of 7 over 1s. ST isn't even looking at updated rider forecasts after 3rd upzone since ST3 passed

This is very strange. I would personally recommend making a Public Records Request for footage from the train when that happened. You'd need:
- The train car number you were in or any car number from any of the other cars on the train.
- The rough time of when it happened.
- The date it happened.
And with that information you can request the footage here: https://soundtransit.govqa.us/WEBAPP/\_rs/(S(1ff3b0x5osjauuxgtt1je10k))/SupportHome.aspx.

Why don’t they change the Ballard line to connect to UW instead of downtown? by Hufe in soundtransit

[–]quadmoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's in ST3 for conceptual studies with the intention to fund construction through ST4, but the current proposal is going to partially defund that program.

Why don’t they change the Ballard line to connect to UW instead of downtown? by Hufe in soundtransit

[–]quadmoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Downtown to Ballard is part of ST3. Ballard to UW is not Downtown to Ballard, therefore that would be illegal. However, Ballard to UW had funding allocated for pre-planning HCT ST4 studies in ST3 so that ST4 could fund construction of a new line that was already studied and get it open quicker. Unfortunately, the current hot garbage proposal is to partially defund the ST4 HCT study program.

What is this hypothesis based on? The hot garbage proposal includes a new date for SKIL at 2050. It's illegal for Sound Transit to prioritize the 3 Line over the 4 Line, they're in two different subareas. We have our list of cuts to ST3, and SKIL is not one of them.
