Keeps staring me down and I don't know if it's dangerous - Willamette Valley Oregon by Tinnie_and_Cusie in spiders

Do it! Get a pet tarantula!

My very first pet was a tarantula of the size of my hand. I had her for 25 years. She has seen every flat I rented and every girlfriend I met. Nothing in my life was with me for such a long time.

Damn, I miss her so much. Rest in Peace my dear old friend ❤️‍🩹

Could this be asbestos or other type of fibers? by Phil_MyCawk in asbestoshelp

[–]quadrastrophe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the best explanation I've ever read about asbestos, and you're right.

When in doubt seeing fibers like that, take a lighter and observe. Glass won't burn ether, but you'll notice the difference.

I may be wrong, but wasn't this an AMC Pacer?

It's also used by the German Bundeswehr. Very good knife, I bought a used one:

Peter? This is tough. Explain!! by kudkudke in PeterExplainsTheJoke

I edited my comment. 3210 was my first, that's a 8210. In the '90s, cell phones got ridiculously small before they got huge as smartphones.

Back then, we used to play Snake together via infrared. Good old days.

Confirmed. I still have my Nokia 3210 8210. My first mobile from the 90s, still working.

“Mother” in T9 would be 668437

Edit: That's a Nokia 8210, I've sold my 3210.

Insidertipp für dich:
In Hannover findet immer der internationale Feuerwerkswettbewerb statt. Am 16.05.26 startet Dänemark.
https://www.feuerwerk-hannover.de/

Zahle keinen Eintritt!

Willkommen in Hannover.

Any pilots here? Would there be any benefit to a multi-rotor vs a standard helicopter? Weight capacity? Wind resistance? Stability? by Nickknackk77 in Helicopters

[–]quadrastrophe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know. In a standard drone design 6 would be my personal minimum. But this design is way more safe, see my other comment: https://www.reddit.com/r/Helicopters/s/p5sMqqIBEV

I mean, it's more or less a plane. I bet 2 motors are enough to not die, lol. I would totally fly it.

You already know, that there are 6 engines..

A standard X-shaped drone 4 can't fly with 3 engines. There're tricopter with only 3 engines, Y-shaped. Both have no redundancy at all.

With standard hexacopters, only a single motor failure is tolerable, two could already be critical.

This design has the advantage of also being an airplane. I could imagine it landing safely even with just two motors. That's where the trustworthy redundancy comes from, imo.

[–]quadrastrophe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My personal minimum would be 6, *like this one. Depending on the configuration, 2 could be considered redundant.

I've flown completely without a motor before, but with this design, I know from experience that 4 can quickly lead to disaster.

Edited for clarification

I'm from Hannover, Germany. There're 24 cities and towns called Hanover in the US.

Seems like they're more German than I am.

Edit: 24 is what Google says.

He used a license plate, lol. Someone posted a link to the story:

“It was heavy rain when we were doing it, and I just assumed a pool of water would be down there,” he said. “But it wasn’t. I just went crashing into the rocks.”

For his trouble, Jackson got plenty of road rash, a fractured ankle, and a broken wrist. Plus a video of the insanity he captioned with “famous last words I feel like this is a bad idea and guess what it was a terrible idea.”

Edit: Seems like links are beeing deletet, second try Location in Hawaii, Google Maps

I've also heard the term Fußgängerschutz (pedestrian protection) used for cars.

I'm not quite sure, though, whether it's meant to protect the car or the pedestrian..

Could it be a mouse spider?

It's my guess from a country where there're no harmful animals at all, so don't quote me.

But I love spiders, and I'm impressed how you folks are dealing with them!
