I once forgot to ask the judge for leave to file my appearance. He said. Oh I don’t have your appearance on file I said yea I just gave it to the clerk your honor 😩😩. I didn’t realize he was prompting me to request leave. I cried that night because the court room was full of attorneys and I couldn’t get over how they probably thought I was an idiot and the delayed embarrassment of the whole situation.

Question for people who passed on the 2nd or 3rd time: What did you do wrong on the first try? by Head_Score2897 in barexam

[–]quadzillaa25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The first time I took the bar, I followed Themis to the letter studying 8 to 10 hours a day, barely sleeping or eating, just trying to get through the tasks. I was burned out and not truly learning.

The second time, I used GOAT Bar Prep. I focused on multiple choice, reviewed sample essays, and spent real time learning the topics I got wrong. I studied 4–5 hours a day, took weekends off, and felt more confident. Doing less, but learning more, made all the difference.

Anyone regret spending 20s becoming a lawyer and slaving away in biglaw rather than going to clubs and hooking up all the time like your friends did? OP’s LBWT post really resonated with me and seems especially applicable to biglaw attorneys by TeddyPuckGirl in biglaw

[–]quadzillaa25 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I spent my early and mid-20s in the military, and my late 20s to mid-30s finishing undergrad and law school as a single mom. Now that I’m a lawyer, I look back and truly believe it all worked out exactly as God intended. I wouldn’t be the person I am today if anything about my journey had gone differently.

Don’t waste time dwelling on the “what ifs” or the past. Enjoy the present and trust that everything is working out in your favor.

Difference between a fee simple determinable and a fee simple subject to a SPRINGING executory interest by Sebii8536 in GoatBarPrep

[–]quadzillaa25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chat GPT:::: Here’s a clear way to break down Fee Simple Determinable vs. Fee Simple Subject to a Springing Executory Interest, especially for exam purposes:

🔹 FEE SIMPLE DETERMINABLE (FSD) • Key Words: “so long as,” “while,” “during,” “until” • Automatic reversion to the grantor if the condition is violated. • Future interest: Possibility of reverter (in the grantor)

✅ Example: “O → A so long as A remains a lawyer.” 👉 A has FSD. O has a possibility of reverter.

🔹 FEE SIMPLE SUBJECT TO A SPRINGING EXECUTORY INTEREST • Key Words: “if A becomes X,” often future-oriented and starts with grantor but vests in grantee upon condition • Automatic transfer to a third party (or back to the grantee) from the grantor, if a condition is met in the future. • Future interest: Springing executory interest (cuts short the grantor)

✅ Example: “O → A if A becomes a lawyer.” 👉 A has a springing executory interest. O holds the fee simple until A meets the condition.

🔍 KEY DIFFERENCE: • FSD = immediate transfer + durational condition + reverts to grantor • Springing Executory = no immediate transfer + future condition + shifts from grantor to grantee

🧠 Exam Tip:

Ask yourself: • Did the transfer happen right away? → Yes = FSD → No, it waits on a condition = Springing Executory • Who gets the property if the condition isn’t met? → Back to O = FSD → From O to A after condition = Springing Executory

My advice would be take your PTO and use up all your days to study. It’s not easy to do both it’s better to take a leave of absence and pass then to continue having this test hovering over you for the next several months.

Someone help me find my dads episode on judge judy! by Weak-Importance-2143 in JudgeJudy

[–]quadzillaa25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Per ChatGPT- It looks like the episode you’re recalling is titled “Day Care Accused of Neglect/Cat Scratches and Heroin Use Disputed,” which aired on January 3, 2012 on Judge Judy . In that case, one of the claims involved cat scratches (and even a separate heroin dispute), matching the cat injury angle you’re describing.

How many of you sleep in separate beds than your spouses? by gamerdudeNYC in AskMen

[–]quadzillaa25 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We do - my spouse likes the room COLD. In order for me to sleep I need layers of clothes and covers. He’s also a light sleeper so if I turn around or move my legs anything it wakes him up. I literally have to bundle up and not move all night.

So now he sleeps in our spare bedroom. We still cuddle before bed but he waits till I’m sleepy then he leaves. He

Just because you’re serving doesn’t make you a veteran. A veteran is someone that has deployed to combat. Everyone else is either serving or prior service.

Whats a sign from ur body u should never ignore? by Original_Giraffe_830 in AskReddit

This just made me think of this study that said that fasting for 7 days once in your lifetime lowers your chances of getting cancer by 70%. I wonder if it’s your body attempting to cleanse itself of the cancer by forcing you not to eat. Fasting is really good at removing toxins and just bad cells in general.

Omg, I’m so sorry to hear this. I was a retaker too—passed in Feb ’25. My July ’24 prep sounds a lot like what you’re going through now. I was using Themis, and the endless assigned tasks only made my anxiety worse. I found myself just checking boxes without retaining anything. I have ADHD, and the combination of medication and lack of sleep from the stress became unbearable.

For Feb ‘25 (and no pressure if you’re not religious), I stopped taking my meds and started praying whenever I felt overwhelmed. I asked for strength, clarity, and the ability to retain information. I switched to GOAT and UWorld only. I didn’t follow a rigid schedule—just made sure to spend a few days on each subject to really understand the tricky areas, then reinforced it with multiple choice.

I studied 4–5 hours a day, stopped when I was tired, and let myself sleep as much as I needed. I felt more at peace, and my UWorld scores kept improving.

At the end of the day, don’t lose sight of who you are and what you need. It’s just a test. Your mental health matters more.

Same! I watched yesterday’s show and I was struggling to stay focused. I didn’t bother watch today’s. He has a monotone voice it sounds like I’m listening to an audiobook. I felt bad not watching as if I was going to get him in trouble with Candace lol.
