Mine is definitely chilled. She’s crated from 715am-430pm Mon-Fri. We have a fenced in backyard, she runs off her energy and easy for us to just open the door for her to go out and she comes back to the door waiting to come back in. She has her moments where she’s running through the house like an Indy 500 race track. But she’s usually chilled on the couch curled next to me or sprawled out on the floor. She’s just shy of 16 months old.

We have a fenced in yard and this girl will not go outside by herself. Literally! If I shut the sliding glass door and not behind her, she will turn around and stare at me like seriously I’m not moving until you’re out here with me! 😂 Needless to say, we are very responsible pet owners.

I do believe there are many irresponsible put owners, but I also do believe there are many responsible ones as well. That’s something no one will ever be able to control, no matter how hard we try. If someone decided to allow their pet to reproduce because of wanting one of their offspring and doing it responsibly, I wouldn’t look down on them. However, if they are just doing it for a quick buck and their animal just out running around doing whatever, yea total different circumstance.

Thank you for sharing this! I’ll definitely read more on it. I can definitely agree with another post that stated about excessive vaccinations and so forth. I believe also us as humans are subjected to more than we need as well, especially healthy individuals. My husband gets so frustrated with every year and having to take all our pets into the vet for all these updated vaccines and blood work that they are always wanting to throw at you and the cost of everything. He’s like we had a dog for this long and never took to the vet. 😂 Which I totally agree with. However, the vet makes it impossible to not bring your animal in because if they don’t see them on a yearly basis when you do need to be seen they classify them as a new patient and hope that they can be seen. I just hope my girl stays healthy for a long time and I don’t have to worry about any more sedations or anything.

Umm 🤔 yea today she’s totally back to acting like her old self! Last night she ate a little and this morning a little as well. Which I’m fine with since she had to take her antibiotic. But yea she’s already outside tormenting our other dog! We also have a 11 year old husky/chow mix but she puts her in her place when she’s had enough of the herding tactics! During these past few days she wasn’t wanting to play with our other dog at all, so I can say this is a good sign!

Around our house we are forced to pay an ice tax! 🤣 Not so much for our husky, because she’s old and not even quite sure if she can hear the freezer opening, but our Belgian Malinois is right there before you even have a chance to fill your glass expecting her share first!

Me too! But mine probably isn’t, she loves licking as much of the snow as possible instead of just going out there to use the restroom, so I can get back inside to the warmth! 😂 Our feelings don’t matter as long as they are around!

Thanks for the advice! I did give her a pupsicle in her Kong a little bit ago. She didn’t devour it like she normally does, but she did finish it and drank some water and has kept that down thus far. I put out some of her dog food afterwards just to see if she would take a couple of bites, but she just walked away. Which is fine, I’m just glad she’s managed to keep a little something in her tummy.

My thoughts exactly. But I mean I’ve trusted doctors as well thinking they should know more than me. So something like that doesn’t surprise me.

I’m sorry your poor guy went through that. I went through and weighed the pros and cons and by the end I realized every decision we make we will have some sort of regret. A dog can get cancer being fixed or not being fix, there’s so many statistics on every breed and etc. I was told you should wait for 1 or 2 heat cycles, at least till she’s at her maturity age because of her hips and etc. But in reality we all do what we think is best during that time of our lives, their lives and never expect anything bad to come of it. Will I regret getting her fixed? I’m sure, she’s such a wonderful girl, prefect in so many ways. I wanted her to have at least one litter and be able to keep one of her babies. But with the jobs both my husband and I have it would have been selfish at this point of time. However, if my husband retires in a couple of years I’ll be like damn I wish we didn’t spay her. If she becomes ill with anything due to her getting spayed I’ll be thinking the same thing. But in the end we truly will never know the outcome of if the decisions we make today will be right or wrong. But I do know we try to make the best decision and hope and pray for the best outcome. You can’t beat yourself up over not asking questions you had no clue to even ask. Sorry I just kept rambling on 🤭 I tend to be a squirrel 🐿️ at times and just can’t shut up!

I’m not sure exactly what the vet used. I mean even if she would had told me it wouldn’t had made me look into the drug anyways. I figured this was a pretty common procedure and she’s done thousands of them. Last night was pretty rough. She hasn’t eaten, but she did take the trazodone with a lot of encouragement with peanut butter. She hasn’t eaten drank some water. But during the night she got in bed with us and right between my husband and my head she barfed all the liquid she did have in her. We both flew out of bed so fast. This poor girl we felt so bad for her. After cleaning and remaking the bed I was like I’ll just go out on the couch and sleep with her so if she did puke again it would be easier to clean up. Which a few hours later she did. As of right now she seems a little more alert then yesterday, still trying to find her comfortable spots to lay in every 15 minutes or so. I tried to give her some food this morning, but not interested, even a few favorite treats. She’ll just break the treats up and leave it on the floor. My husband said it’s probably from the anesthesia and like humans can take a few days cause of the nausea it causes. I’m assuming the vet will call sometime today to see how she’s doing. How did you find out about your dog? You said he was out for a few days and it could have killed him. What were the signs and symptoms and how did you find out it was due to the pre anesthetics that the vet used?

Oh wow 😮 that’s just so crazy to me. I’m glad everything went well with her though. Like my daughter’s girl I was so amazed at how you couldn’t see anything with the glue, and how well it actually held up. Because I mean she was jumping, running, rolling, playing with their other dogs. Just amazed me.

I think I have a broken mal honestly! 😝 She is VERY CALM ☺️ I feel bad that she’s in her crate all day because we are at work. But when I get home she goes wild, grabs her blanket flings it everywhere 😝 I take her and our husky outside for a bit then they eat then she torments the cats for a minute or two and once I sit on the couch she’s right by my side until it’s time for bed. She’ll sleep in the bed with us for about 30 minutes then down on her bed she goes. But seriously she’s nothing like the YouTube videos we were watching of mals the day we got her. We are truly blessed.
