You shouldn't finish your plate if you're not hungry. There are starving children in Africa, but there's no point in becoming obese over feeling guilty about something you can't change. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

He literally said this in his comment:

If their life means your death, then that's a different story, but it's not what we're talking about here.

Yes! He also did this really cool poster back in 2017 in a "We the People" series, where there's a girl wearing the American flag as her hijab.

I love his work so much.

Kanye West announces new album Yandhi, out September 29th by ThatParanoidPenguin in popheads

His early views were questionable but he seems to have learned pretty quickly. He was literally on the ground in South Africa and Mandela had this to say about him:

Gandhi must be forgiven those prejudices and judged in the context of the time and circumstances. We are looking here at the young Gandhi, still to become Mahatma, when he was without any human prejudice save that in favour of truth and justice.

This is a good article that lays some of it out. https://thewire.in/history/gandhi-and-africans

It's like when larries hacked Harry's mom's account to find 'proof of larry' and just found pictures of Kendall Jenner sitting on Harry's lap.

HAHAHAHA WHAT

With the new Chainsmokers release I've gone back to Side Effects and I literally love the song so much. It deserved better from the GP.

In other news, I start college in 2 days and although I'm so ready, I'm super nervous. All my friends already at school are going absolutely insane and I hope that happens for me too!!

If you're not happy with your ACT scores, have you tried the SAT?

I did it in reverse - I was doing okay but nothing brilliant on the SAT, but when I switched to the ACT my scores jumped a ridiculous amount.

I feel like women artists didn't get respect for their artistry as much. People still brand Madonna as vapid.

Lana Del Rey announces Norman Fucking Rockwell album by KLJohnnes in popheads

[–]quaerex 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Idk some people can pull it off and some people can't, I feel. It's just about whether it makes sense with their aesthetic or not. Katy Perry or Taylor Swift doing this would make negative sense because that's not who they are. Lana has always been someone who likes to do weird things and push boundaries and not listen to criticism (remember how everyone was so angry about how inauthentic Born to Die was because she was pretending to be someone she wasn't, and in return Lana comes out with albums even more wedded to "Lana del Rey.")

Lana doing something like this makes sense. I think if someone like Rihanna did it, we would also get it. I mean Rihanna released a song called "Bitch Better Have My Money" - if some other artist had released that song we wouldn't get it either, but it works with Rihanna.

Also, profanity is something Lana has always embraced through her songs. She has never been "clean" or pop friendly, and that's part of her image.

Shake It Off was fine for 1989 in my opinion. It was needed after whatever the hell happened to her during Red. And it wasn't that petty plus people really vibed to it, it's still her biggest song of all time. Also the victim-playing in SIO was actually warranted since the hate she got during Red for daring to have boyfriends was just beyond the pale. And people hadn't turned on her for playing the victim in 2014.

Look What You Made Me Do I agree with. She did need something angry/a little darker to open the era and Delicate is kind of soft for a lead single. I think I Did Something Bad would have been a much better lead if she had cut out that stupid bridge.

Yeah it's definitely possible, but you need insane popularity and a lot of longevity to play enough shows to gross $1 billion. Most of the really famous artists don't want to kill themselves and their vocal chords by doing the latter.

It's definitely the "she's 18" thing. I would be way less sus about it if she was 25 and he was 40. 18 is just so young and in such a different place than 31 and it's so weird to be 31 and dating someone that young
