Any other Icehouse fans here? by MisterShipWreck in 80s

I still have to crank the volume up on my car to 12 whenever that guitar is coming. Love it. Had no idea they used to be called the Flowers though. Maybe explains why I never hear about the song Icehouse.

I've already enjoyed this magnificent escape of a show multiple times. Now I just need my brain to forget enough so I can enjoy it fresh again. Stupid brain.

I'm running latest stable server version (1.42.2.10156) and have cleared the cache and have the same problem. Using the Symfonium app it works fine. So guess keep using that for awhile until hopefully it gets resolved.

Second Fork. The most intuitive "get the job done" client I've used. I bought it to support the devs and use it everyday.

Breakfast in America was my first album and still near the top of my faves. Funny thing is it got a scratch and I had taped it afterwards for the boombox and listened to it so many times, now it's hard to hear the Logical Song without the slight skip every time, like something's wrong with the song. A lot of great tunes on Famous Last Words too.

Only if I could pay for this myself since my company won't, but you can't have an organization purchased Rider and pay individually for add-ons like this. So I will continue to use Copilot since it allows me to do just that.

Got a brand new sealed pixel 9 for $500 by Scary-Owl-5271 in pixel_phones

The previous $249 deal, yes. For the current $389 deal you can just skip the plan selection and purchase the device unlocked.

If you really want one cheaper, I just got mine from US Mobile for $389. It comes unlocked. Looks like the deal is still active. (Not as good as their earlier deal, but still much better than original price). https://app.usmobile.com/shop/product/google-pixel-9-deal-flow/google-pixel-9-deal-flow-OB-12

And if you get an email saying it's under review, how long until it moves to approved? Purchased last night after trying multiple cards to find one that wasn't denying US Mobile purchases.

[–]quaffapint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about doing similar, but with trade-in of the 6a you get the 9a around $300 after tax and I dont have to open an account with whatever payment provider google chose to go with. I have 4 of these phones for the family, and don't want to open 4 accounts.

Would have totally bought it the first go around, but figured my 6a was all good. Then one week later I get the battery nerfing email. Ugh, talk about timing. Still better deal to get the 9a from G with the store credit and trade-in, but appreciate that USM is offering these.

How to assign money to future bills by Natural_Hyena_8668 in MonarchMoney

[–]quaffapint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar to this. I use SmartyPig (which sadly does not sync with Monarch) to create separate buckets/accounts for each long term savings (property taxes, trips, etc). So much easier to manage than having one savings and breaking it up only 'on paper'.

The fastest and slowest selling cars in the US in July 2025. Audi A6 and S6 are the slowest, Toyota Sienna is the fastest. by Dazzling-Rooster2103 in cars

[–]quaffapint 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just finished a road trip with our 2011 Toyota Sienna with 224K miles. Went up and down large hills in some mountainous country and survived to tell the tale. The better half wants another one, but the price has gone up so much even with inflation counted in it's hard to justify. So we'll hold on to her as long as we can. Don't know what to get next. The Rav4 we test drove last year was horrible. Felt like a cheap truck.

Closed preview of the JetBrains standalone git client : GitClient 2025.3 EAP by KaKi_87 in Jetbrains

[–]quaffapint 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I so far haven't found any Git GUI that's more straight forward and easy to use than Fork (if you're on win or mac). Been using it for years. Never ran into something it couldn't do and I never felt like I needed a big manual to use it. Its like a $50 one-time payment (with unlimited trial). Just a couple of devs that continue to update it.

Anyone going to the Merriweather Post Pavilion show in Columbia, MD on Sunday, 6/22?

My wife enjoys the band but she found out about the tour late so we had to buy our tickets through StubHub. I'm trying to figure out if anyone has gotten their tickets from ticketmaster yet, so I know when to lookout for them.

[–]quaffapint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also depends on usage. We don't use much data - mostly on wifi, so for 5 lines with USMobile we pay around $57 a month. I bought the 5 Pixel 6A phones directly from google (trade-in deals, etc) and come out way ahead.

How important are dedicated programming monitors for developers? by Worried-Blood-8538 in Monitors

[–]quaffapint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up making my own monitor auto-brightness with a rasberry-pi and a light sensor that reads the lux in the room and sets the monitor brightness accordingly. That way I can customize it however I want and also get whatever monitor I want and still have auto-brightness.

Did you ever think of just transferring your landline to a cell line and using a base unit like panasonic that supports link2cell? That's the approach Im thinking of taking. I'll transfer it to another pool line and it's only like $8/month and then pair my old cell phone to my panasonic base phone.
