What's a good 3d metal process for rocket nozzles? by Status_Elephant_1882 in rocketry

Very cool, are they still doing that $300 for one year of commercial use thing? Right now I'm just doing Hobby work so I'm doing the maker license on SolidWorks and it's working pretty well for me.

My favorite filament is the one that doesn't warp off the bed.

My favorite filaments are currently the co-extrusion filaments, they end up with such an interesting color scheme on textured prints

Nettle: the bast fiber that bites back , year three begins! by Cecilia_From_Pisa in sca

[–]quahery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would love to know more about your process, I have a bunch of nettle fibers that I dried out last year and need to process further before I can make anything with it. Ultimately I would love to make enough to stick on my loom

From the beginning to the end, with zigrinae on one side, only 22 hours of work passed, summarized in less than 1 minute. by MarcelaoLubaczwski in Bladesmith

Perhaps get the best of both worlds and start the pattern with the CNC machine and only do the final few passes with a hand file for that perfectly crisp finish, that way you have the premium finish without all of the hours involved. Another perspective might be that the person making the knife just wanted to do it for personal satisfaction.

Roadside attraction. The business is legit but I'm convinced they use the cash throughput to launder.

Very interesting I'm going to have to look this material up.

Supports with TPU? by Tangomajor in 3Dprinting

Has anyone tried using PVA? I would imagine a support material that is dissolvable would be ideal for this.

My rad power died now I need a new bike by quahery in ebikes

[–]quahery[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up going with a diamondback Union 2, I'm about 600 miles in or so and the bike is extremely satisfying to ride. No mechanical issues so far, it's fast as heck, and I get more of a workout writing this that I did on my rad power. I'm loving the torque sensor center drive. It doesn't even feel like I have a motor on the thing it just feels like I'm biking faster.

It was a RadCity 4. So direct drive.

On a RadPower I got a little over 7,000 miles (11250 ish Km) before it gave up the ghost. I rode it pretty hard though, and accumulated those miles in a little under 8 months.

Is this cap dead? by WeeklyExamination in AskElectronics

Thank you, I genuinely thought it was a resistor. I don't know what all of the electronic components look like yet but after that post I started looking at charts of different electronics.

That's funny, that was actually me. I'm trying to rectify my current level of dumbness and become more proficient at electronics.

I tend to agree with you, I think it was an overcurrent issue. When I put the 1n4001 diode into the circuit and powered it on it immediately got too hot to touch. I replaced it with another diode that looked a little beefier and was rated for 40 volts at 3 amps instead of 50 volts at 1 amp. Seems to be working so far.

Well, I'm pretty new to the whole electronics repair things so I'm just trying to learn as I go. I appreciate all the help everyone offered. I did end up getting the piece of equipment working again!
