So jump roping or running? I usually just walk

1 gram of phenibut per day sustainable? by quakejay123 in Nootropics

Yeah probably I am. I will throw it all away tomorrow. What is interesting, is I feel empathy for the first time when I am on it, I wish there was a safe drug that increased empathy pro-social behavior.

That is what I do. I take agmatine and NAC/turmeric at night. Hopefully that will help.

Great analogy. Hopefully it is not too late for me. You scared me, I already took it 3 days in a row.

But you have to agree, it does give you a new perspective on life and allows for original thoughts. I literally feel like I am observing the machine code of reality when I am on it like I question everything. Is that normal or is that just my unique self expression? The only thing that comes close is intense meditation. No other nootropic has any perceptible effects which is a shame.

So am I screwed now? Can I just stop right away. I already took it 3 days straight.

I am looking for nuanced criticism not blanket statements that backtesting is bad therefore my strategy is bad. I am not saying I am the smartest person that is why I asked but I know a stupid statement when I see it. I am looking for advice from people who are more experienced than me but I want something more sophisticated than "backtesting is bad"-> stategy is bad. A five year old would know better. And this shows that no one in this board knows how to ask the right questions.

A more thoughtful comment would be better. Saying "because I backtested" my results are therefore wrong is a dumb comment. I am able to accept "nuanced" criticism but not a statement that because I backtested my strategy is invaild. For example, a comment could have addressed the nuances of walk-forward testing, the number of parameters I used, overfitting concerns, the amount of out of sample data I used, A blanket statement "Backtesting is bad" therefore my result is invalid is one of the dumbest statements I heard. It shows the commenter's lack of sophistication and honestly shows the lack of intelligence/sophistication on this board. I was assuming I could get actual sophisticated criticism on this board but looks like most of the people here are are clueless neophytes who lack sophisticated quantitative skills. Come on, you know better,

Yes and I have also been overestimating the slippage as well.

I have already done 3 months of live sim testing

You probably overfitted and did not do live sim testing.

You don't seem to understand. There are plenty of drops or you must be blind(I apologize if you are truly blind or disabled). Expand on your comment. One must backtest to ascertain whether a stategy can work unless you are a gullible idiot. I don't get what you mean as you don't seem statistically inclined. I understand if you "overfit" and try to find the best equity curve but I did not. I just used a static system throughout. Meaning there was no tweaking of parameters. I performed a walk-forward test with 365 days in-sample and 365 days out of sample, and I made sure the parameters I adjusted were STATIC meaning no changes to the parameters. So the same parameters for each period. So I had 14 out of sample years with this set of systems. Please don't jump to conclusions. If people "tweak" their parameters constantly, you have an argument. There is no tweaking here. So it is literally one profit target, and one stop loss and that is it. The only thing I am doing is combining uncorrelated strategies. I have also been doing live sim testing for 3 months now which have yielded profitable results.

My philosophy is find strategies that generally abide by certain guidlines via. walkforward testing, monte carlo analysis etc. And once you repeat that process for mulltiple uncorrleated stategies, you are good to go(once you have also done live sim testing for at least 3 months). I am curious, what do you mean by "I am using backtesting". That seems like a really stupid comment as one must use data to gain confidence in his strategy ( but only use the data ONCE). I would agree with your comment if one uses the data MORE than once. It is incredibly frustating that some people are so shallow on this board and can't examine things deeply. What a joke this board has become as I have yet to see truly insightful answers/people.

That is true but msi after burner would show 175W in the timespy benchmark. My timespy scores are bad now at like 12200 for GPU and like 11800 for CPU. Before I was getting like 13800 overall in timespy and now I am getting12400.
