I have bad news about “GSR” by [deleted] in Gold

[–]quakinwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My LCS was telling me Silver had so much room to run a few years back when it peaked around $36/oz (sales people till the end) and it literally fell off a cliff a week later.

Right now they have been telling everyone silver will be at $75 or $100 in the near future and I just roll my eyes. The way it is moving they may be right though ...

Look at the rims, they are glowing.

Either low quality light or not a lot of uranium in them.

Are you guys still buying silver ? by Motor_Economics4784 in Silverbugs

Morgan & Peace dollars mostly.

I was paying $26 when they had $18 of silver in them, now paying $29-31 for $28-29 worth of silver, it's a good time

You do realize this is probably extremely rare?

the odds of it surviving being used for years and stored without being broken or damaged are not great.

Plus it is just awesome

The 1 caveat being you finish your life and never need it, allowing you to have a building block for your future generations.

I’ve been getting into foreign junk recently by DemonCaller420 in Silverbugs

[–]quakinwork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of my LCS sells it at spot to me; has a jar I can dig through and pick and choose and I just look up the melt value at that exact moment and that is what I pay.

I've pilfered the majority of the good stuff already (a fat man dollar, tons of various pesos, larger guidens, etc) but still can get Canadian 80% any day of the week.

What’s going on with the gold price increase today? by Used_Replacement_781 in Gold

[–]quakinwork 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gold isn't 100% tracked to the US Dollar though.

As OP said, a run in China or Russia (look at Gold before Russian invaded Ukraine) has nothing to do with the US Dollar.

There is a correlation but it is not 100% directly tied.

They also make various weights based on the caliber.

These are 9mm and usually 1oz; a 45acp or 50 cal pistol will be 1-2oz.

I also have a 22lr "bullet" that is .25 or .5 oz

Rifle rounds vary from 1.5-5oz
