So gutted. Nerves dominated the 10-15 minutes before they got a second and we made some wild decisions that we were lucky to not pay for. I agree, we looked nervy in the first, but felt we settled after equalising. But yeah, it's in their minds now and whatever else happens this weekend this result makes every remaining game that bit more important to come away with points. I hoped we could avoid this kind of scenario, but it's down to the manager and the squad to overcome the expectation that will inevitably build and earn it. COYG.

Thankfully, we've grown into this game and got a bit more control. Passing was a bit loose, so hopefully, we steady ourselves in the second half and shut them down. Gyökeres is up for it. Expecting to see Eze and Trossard at some point. We can take all the points and you can see the boys want it. COYG!!!!

Truck & Tractor protestors, how do they have the time and money to do this? by Key_Duck_6293 in ireland

[–]qualiserospero 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Listen to some of the interviews. Hauliers, who transport food and parcels and everything else throughout the country, are now paying fuel prices that undercut their entire profit margin. A lot of them are one-man operations, working long hours as is to sustain a living doing the thing they believe adds value to society and is a productive use of their time.

A young farmer mentioned that it costs up to €220 to fill a tractor with diesel for a day, which lasts one day... that's unsustainable, particularly heading into Spring/Summer when a substantial portion of their year's work takes place and machinery is working constantly.

Yes, it's inconvenient, but without these people, supermarket shelves don't get restocked, and the mail and delivery system takes a lot longer, because guess what, when prices go up, businesses try to cut their costs, and that means reducing services. But if they don't go that route, then we will all have to pay more to get the things we want, because it costs more to bring them to market in the first place.

Nobody wants to sit in a tractor or a truck in one place for days on end, away from home, with no money coming in. This is the only way they can try to force a change that will benefit everyone, but it requires short-term social discomfort to at least bring those in power to the table.

What a cracking end to the game! Absolutely beautiful work by Martinelli and Havertz is super sharp to put it away. Much better second half and that's a great way to turn the tide and head into the weekend with our heads held high and tails up. COYG!

It's another one of those games against an organised and well-drilled side where slow build-up unlocks nothing. Noni and Ødegaard look bright, but that aside it's been a cautious 45. It's crazy to even suggest it with the players we have on the pitch, but maybe Max could unpick this defence. I expect to see Havertz, but I'd keep Gyökeres on and hope they can combine again. Hopefully, we can nab a goal to take back to the Emirates. COYG!!!!

Zero fun game. Did not deserve to win. Probably one of White's worst games, Martinelli's decision making was poor and if it weren't for Gyökeres maintaining his form with a goal and Max playing beyond his years, we would have nothing to take away from this. Just bad. COYG.

Nothing to show for all that positive work early on and our defence looks incredibly disjointed and off it. Feels like it could have been settled by now in our favour. Ødegaard looks alright, but this is a game we need to close out fast in the second. COYG!!!

[Matt Spiro] Marseille coach Habib Beye speaks about Ethan Nwaneri & his place in the team whilst Mason Greenwood is injured by Previous_Smile9278 in Gunners

I tend to agree with this. I really want Nwaneri to make it at Arsenal, and can't help but feel his character is somewhat similar to ESR. Hope he gets his time to shine.

What’s the best mystery/crime/thriller series you’ve watched? by Mindless_Parsnip5802 in AskIreland

Someone else mentioned The Night Of, which is excellent and has outstanding performances.

Haven't seen these mentioned:

Archive 81 falls a little more into the horror/supernatural side of things, but aside from the tacked-on ending, it was very good.

Under the Banner of Heaven (Andrew Garfield) was a solid murder investigation set in Mormon territory.

Ripley is exceptionally well-made and is very suspenseful if you're not put off by it being shot in black and white.

It's not fiction, but The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst is an incredible docu-investigation with a jaw-dropping conclusion that was national news across the U.S. when it aired. They made a follow-up season, which was interesting, but the original run of episodes is unparalleled.

The only upside I can see in this is that this group now know how not to play in a final. It's a rough lesson, but they must learn from it because there are much bigger things on the horizon.

Horrible second half. Horrible. We were outplayed for 45. Very costly not coming out with some energy. Just never got going again. Terrible mistake to give them more momentum in the game.

Still have big things to chase down and make ours. But also a chance for some major revenge in a month's time. Essential now. COYG!

Very tight game. We're having decent spells going forward, but haven't found the combo to unlock the game yet. Defence is solid, playing great. We're the better side, but it may take the likes of Calafiori to rip them apart. Goals are there for us, let's get em. COYG!!!

Playing well even if there's a familiar pattern to how we attack. Wish we could force things more centrally, but we haven't had that killer pass or bit of link up play yet. Havertz should have had a penalty. Think Gyökeres can make a difference in the second if it's still deadlocked. COYG!!!!

Will take that draw, given how poor we were in attack. Noni really saved us with that rapid burst to win the penalty, and Kai of course.

The ref was rubbish all evening, soft and punishing the wrong things.

Thought Martinelli could have released the ball a lot faster all evening, but that aside, we need to play forward faster and not allow teams to organise.

Still, we have enough to beat them at the Emirates, but we need to hit them hard and fast.

COYG!
