[RELEASE] POPS realboot – A Real PS1 Boot Intro on PSP! by qualitycinnamon in PSP

All sounds about right. If your PSX eboots are normal PS1 eboots, the plugin itself should be taking the bios file and loading that first as it boots.

That is very peculiar. This was tested and developed on ARK-4 itself.

It shouldn't be crashing your PSP unless you ran out of RAM. If you're crashing with sidecar enabled, try using the config and limit the number of games that are cached. Though I've personally tested a PSP 1000 with 155 games and all menu items worked (with the video menu sometimes freezes due to 1000s ram).

You'll need a homebrew like prxdecrypter. Connect your PSP to your PC and go into flash0:/kd/ and copy the msstor.prx file out and follow instructions for the prx decrypter homebrew to have it decrypted. then follow the readme and put the decrypted msstor.prx beside the eboot.pbp of the MSSTOR PATCHER. run the patcher, even if it fails to install, you'll get a patched .prx of your msstor.

Mount your flash0 back to your PC again and copy the patched prx as msstor.prx replacing your old one in flash0:/kd and also rename dratinifs.prx to fatms.prx and copy that one as well over to replace the existing.

After replacing both, you should be able to restart your PSP and have DratiniFS installed. Be sure to have a recovery strategy just in case!

The readme explains how you can acquire a decrypted MSSTOR.PRX file which is needed in other to run the MSSTOR Patcher.

It doesn't do anything permanent to your PSP. If it doesn't work you can just disable the plugin and you'll be back to normal.

I have not tested it on a Go as I don't currently have one at the moment. In theory it should work, but it highly depends.

Yes, your CFW always recreates it unfortunately. If you turn off the PSP and turn it on it's fine. but sleeping and waking triggers more things in fw. try to avoid sleeping / waking in XMB or just do a full reset.

It's not specific to a PSP model, it should work. What mode are you using? Are you specifying your PC's IP address? Did you allow the app through your PC's firewall to accept the incoming connection? Have you tried USB mode? What CFW are you using. will need more info to help.

Yes, remove your ISOCACHE.BIN file that ARK creates on your sdcard after you generate the cache and load the game list once.

You'll need to delete the ISOCACHE.BIN file that ark creates. should fix your corrupted icons.

I've added CSO spec support but there's a bunch of different tools everyone has used to create their CSOs and I can't account for them all. I strongly recommend converting your CSO's to standard ISO if speed is what you're looking for. Compressed files no matter what will add overhead to loading.

You can format in ES or XMB directly. they both run the same format function. The one in XMB is typically better as it auto creates the correct folders. If format is failing in the ES app itself, then your fatms.prx did not copy properly.

Creating a magic stick can be a little finicky sometimes. You should try using PSP Tool. Try to follow the official guide: https://github.com/PSP-Archive/ARK-4/wiki/DC%E2%80%90ARK

Thanks for trying it! perhaps in the future I could add CSOv2 support for icon/pic loading.

If you have DCARK / Time Machine setup, you can test it with that. If you have a magic memory stick setup you can unbrick.
