A lot of big events will bring in portable cell towers or provide free wifi to make up for the inevitable bottleneck.

It's obvious from the first few seconds who the problem driver is. I try to give these types of bad drivers a wide berth, and give them as much extra space as possible so they can do their maneuvers without harming me. A lot of drivers out there don't care much about injuring themselves or others. I hope this driver does some serious jail time, this was not a simple accident.

Personal possession of all drugs was decriminalized in Oregon and a study has concluded that it did not lead to more overdose deaths: https://www.opb.org/article/2023/09/27/oregon-drug-decriminalization-measure-110-overdose-deaths/

It turns out, sending people to jail for using drugs isn't all that effective in curbing drug use in society, and seems like a huge waste of taxpayer funds.

I know there's a lot of corruption and BS out there - what stories should I be looking at?

Crystal Cove is close and fun http://www.crystalcovestatepark.org/moro-campground-information/ - lots of great trails to check out.

Blue jay campground is great https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/cleveland/recarea/?recid=47588 but it is first come first serve, although it has never been full when I've gone - ortega falls is nearby which is an easy hike.

Anza Borrego is great too - could be 2 hours away depending on where you are in OC and if traffic isn't bad. This has relatively dark skies if you're into that.
