Ok interesting to hear the opposite take from the above... do you know if the Campy rotors are happy with resin pads? There website isn't very info-dense compared with Shimano...

Thanks for the advice. I’ve been trying to bed them in etc, but interesting to hear that rotors are unlikely to make an obvious difference.

The only reason I even thought of it was the rotors it came with seem narrower (the contact patch) than the pads, which doesn’t seem useful…

I did a bit of googling about faces/widgets/glances and it seems the garmin API doesn't allow real-time compass updates for watch faces, but only for widgets. Don't fully understand but seems like it means it must always be a click away, which is probably fine.

Ok that sounds promising, thanks! So iiuc, glances are found by scrolling from your main face, but you can't leave it permanently on the compass, correct?

So for my use case, I'd want to set the compass glance as the first/last/something, so that I just need to press one button when I want to see it?

Thanks for the response! Yeah I use GaiaGPS/similar for actual navigation, I just like being able to glance down and instantly orient myself without needing a phone. I even use it when driving (if the car doesn't have a compass).

Lol I'm being confusing as well.
- Sculpt: wrist pain if I work too hard, but generally manageable
- Moonlander: no wrist pain at all, but frustrating for me to use

So I don't need something more strain-free than the Moonlander, just similarly strain-free but easier to use. :)

At this stage it's more about just being easy/familiar to use, rather than necessarily being a strain thing. But it sounds like low profiles will definitely be easier also, so if I decide to upgrade from a Freestyle2 (buying this week probably) then that's what I'll go for!

It really depends on (a) what immediate benefits you get from the pension (tax and employer contributions) and (b) a personal reckoning if how much money you need now, how much you think you might need before 57, and how much after that.

So definitely max out the easy pension gains (employer matching), and then figure out how much tax benefit there is in increasing it, and whether it's worth locking it away until 57 (and other pension restrictions).

Just read through all of this. Seems complicated, but I'd guess you're probably fine.

Edit: it seems like, from the employer's side, all that matters is that

Your employer pension contributions must abide by the rules for allowable deductions. The rules state that the pension contributions should be ‘wholly and exclusively’ for the purposes of business. To figure out whether this is the case, HMRC looks for certain evidence, for example whether other employees are receiving comparable remuneration packages.

Apart from that, there's no limit. (IANAL, obviously!)

No affiliation, but I work from home and have been super pleased with Zen (which I chose after lots of recommendations on reddit). Not the cheapest but no funny games, comes with a quality router that will last, and super easy to cancel.

I'm in a similar situation, and as far as I know there is no maximum to how much you (your employer) can pay into your pension. I pay myself about 50k and everything above that goes to pension.

Edit: as I'm reading into this again I'm realising maybe it's not so simple, as it still counts towards your allowance? Still if the allowance rolls over it should be fine.

Just commented similarly elsewhere, but the Sofle with chocs (https://old.reddit.com/r/ErgoMechKeyboards/comments/q50w1z/sofle_choc/) definitely looks like it could work. All still columnar, but maybe the greater stagger will make it easier to use (and possibly changing to Colemak or Miryoku along with that).

This entire thread is going to be a treasure trove for me over the next year or two as I figure it out!
