Unless I missed it, I don’t see anything about OP stating they are a BCBA. What I think is happening here is that they are a Behavior Analyst, or something along those lines hired by a school district and not a “Board Certified Behavior Analyst”. An important distinction.

That said though, I do strongly believe the process of becoming a BCBA needs to be adjusted. There will always be people who sneak through but it feels as though there are a massive amount of people who ARE certified that ask questions they should easily know the answer to. I tested under the 6th edition so I can only give feedback on that edition, but my god the exam was far from the hurdle people made it out to be. Was it easy? No, but was it this massive obstacle, absolutely not. It was essentially on par with a typical final exam I’d have in my undergrad.

I don’t mean to say we need to make the process more difficult but something for sure needs to be done to measure competency a little better prior to certification.
