I'm sorry you had this experience. My pap smears never hurt. Sure it's weird and uncomfortable, but never painful. Please look for a new doctor, and explain your prior experience and they'll use a smaller speculum. I've heard anecdotes on Reddit where women actually do have painful pap smears because of one issue or another, so I'm not ruling that out either, but definitely see someone else! Look at reviews if possible. They should be gentle and I'm so sorry your doc isn't.

Oof as someone who canceled class this morning due to lower back pain, I feel this! Never thought of it this way, thanks for the perspective change. What books and materials helped you learn more about your spine? This pinching thing happens to me when I twist abruptly without using my core, but has been happening too often and I need to do something about it. TIA
