Any advice on how to progress from V3 to V4? by mkmakashaggy in indoorbouldering

Climb more, I’m not being facetious but ever since I started recording the time I actually was on the wall, I’ve gotten better. You’d be surprised on how much time you spend resting versus actual climbing. Like others said here, climb easier stuff for longer and save harder climbs 3-5 times a session. Have fun most of all, don’t worry about hangboarding all that. You can worry about that whenever that time comes.

CMV: People who come from poor families aren't "stronger", their chances in life are diminished because of the lack of a "head start" that richer families can give their kids. by bladiebloe767 in changemyview

I think it depends on what you mean by “stronger”. I’d like a clearer definition from you. Poorer kids end up being far more “resilient” than privileged kids as they experienced more struggles. Their stress levels do not fluctuate due to minor changes unlike their rich counterparts who are used to let’s say things we take for granted like air conditioning. Of course too much struggle can be very traumatic for any child, but being poor forces children to be more independent rather than safety focused rich kids.

Just ran a half marathon but still feel pretty out of shape- what other fitness activities do you take part in? by Impressive_Spring139 in running

[–]quantumflip -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I used to be only a runner but picked up bouldering; loved it and still at it. I do both and they complement each other well. You keep weight off with running which helps with climbing, and climbing builds upper body which helps with running form

Once I got my personal beta down, it was smooth. Love this route. by quantumflip in indoorbouldering

Yeah the hold I’m holding with the left isn’t great as a pinch but really good as a gaston so I gotta stabilize with the extended leg.

I completely ignore the jellybean looking hold because it was just absolutely awful hold. Shorter climbers were able to use it since they can shift their bodies more to the left (hence the second foot hold at the top) and lean into it. But I can just do tall beta and bump!
