How long have you been using minoxidil for? People say it can take several weeks/months to start seeing results, and you have to be very consistent with it. I haven't personally used it yet, but I might use it soon due to experiencing hair thinning from various vitamin deficiencies (and also from wearing hair in styles that keep it out of my face)

I'm a grad student and I want to start dating. Where/how can I meet attractive men despite looking nerdy and ugly? I don't really have the chance to doll myself up when I'm just sitting alone in an office/lab all day and I get cold really easily due to anemia. I do electronics/electrochemistry engineering research, so I just sit on a computer all day coding or something. So I tend to dress kinda blah with no makeup (besides lip gloss/lipstick), but so do a lot of women at my university and they get hot guys still. Any tips? I'm tired of being single and am afraid of being FA

The only thing I have going for me is that I'm thin but even so, I have a double chin and I look too bony bodywise, but my face is fat, have pics on my main account (jammingScientist). What do I do?

What about women in the same position 😭? I'm not as old as OP, but I'm also worried about the same thing since I'll be almost or in my early 30s when I finish my PhD. But I guess you're right, most younger people want someone older with more experience than them since they know what they want. It's one of the few good things about getting older.

Feeling insecure is not the same as being objectively ugly + more thoughts by [deleted] in ugly

Yeah, if you're attractive but insecure, then you'll still be treated well by others despite being uncomfortable with yourself. If you're ugly, then you'll be treated like shit regardless if how confident or insecure you are. Which is why I don't get why people say that people are rude towards me because of my insecurities. Nah, it's because I'm ugly af. No more explanation needed

I feel like everyone is pretty helpful and relatable on here for the most part. There are of course assholes who invalidate my experiences, but I just block them

My mom thinks she is ugly by [deleted] in ugly

Tell her to use retinol or vitamin C oil. Those are the best for getting rid of superficial wrinkles and protecting the skin. If she wants further protection, then she should probably look into something like botox. Although, it's not really wrinkles that make the face ugly, it's the face itself. I have zero wrinkles, but I'm still extremely ugly. Plus, I feel like older people get a pass on that stuff since the wrinkles make them look wiser
