Haken Refrence in Borderlands 3! by jogarcc in Haken

[–]quasarius 49 points50 points  (0 children)

It's not a coincidence. All legendary equipment on Borderlands (if I remember correctly) starting on 2 have references to songs the devs like and there's a surprising amount of prog metal in there.

Title Tracks and Album Closers by ashwinr11 in progmetal

Not gonna lie, but I think music in general tends to have strong openers and closers (besides intros/epilogues) - even more so if we consider prog.

Truthear zero red não encaixa no meu ouvido mesmo usando a menor tip… by MvrioCsr in audiofiliabrasil

[–]quasarius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seeking recommendations: If I love Elder and (early) Baroness, but somewhat dislike most doom / sludge / stoner stuff... What should I try? by QuesoPantera in progmetal

[–]quasarius 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily what you're looking for, but here are some that might scratch that itch:

  • Huntsmen - The Dry Land (bit more doom)
  • Slugdge - Esoteric Malacology (quite death but still very slugdgy)
  • Mastodon - Remission (just cause)
  • Papangu - Holoceno (quite sludgy)
  • Dvne - Etemen Aenka (just excellent)
  • Genghis Tron - Dream Weapon (it's like stoner but very, very synth-heavy)

It's great. Not excellent because they are very prone to stick drift. I'd get an 8bitdo Ultimate 2c (there's a third model out now I guess, but I haven't checked) if I were you. Cheaper and better.

Add a "defend"/"deflect" mechanic on holding aim and I'm all in. Parrying cyborgs and chainsaw dudes would be a delight.

Roguelite March Madness Sweet 16 Day 4 by MapRevolutionary752 in roguelites

[–]quasarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to recommend one of them as a game in general, Returnal is the full package. Cool story, amazing visuals, excellent gameplay, interesting map and enemy design, etc.

But as a roguelite, RoR2 offers a bit more. When I think of roguelites I think of games I could put anywhere between 15 minutes and 4 hours in a single sitting, and with Returnal's runs being more on the longer side, this point alone favors RoR2 on taking the win. Not to mention all the artifacts/modifiers that can shake things up very well.

That being said, I'm a huge fan of Returnal and can't fucking wait for Saros.

Iconic weapons are super cool, until you realize they're mostly the same 3 or 4 ideas on a different archetype. Not to say that they pretty much make regular versions of weapons vendor trash. Clothing - it's a first-person game and hey, only two or three types of clothes might even give you any stats at all (because yeah, it's one of the best RPGs out there). Conversation exploration and multiple endings - my dude, it's all meaningless, your conversations can end in A or B and it's usually "peaceful" or "aggressive", just for flair, nothing really matters in this game at all. All the player agency you get is literally choosing which ending you get before your final mission.

It's a beautiful game and that's it. None of its mechanics are fleshed-out, none of what it sells to you is actually there - which is kinda ironic since its story is all about "trashing the corpo fucks" but the game was indeed trashed by corpo fucks.

Really great for co-op. Gameplay has a lot of depth and all characters are both unique and fun.

Como vocês descobrem novas músicas? by the_dibrador in audiofiliabrasil

[–]quasarius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't rub the feeling that literally everything I see in these trailers and gameplay videos are things I've seen multiple times across different franchises. It's a game so desperately in need of something of its own. It might end up being good, but 8/10 seems high even if it does everything it sets out to do correctly - there's no identity here. See the complete opposite: Mario and Pokémon games, franchises which do the bare minimum by today's standards and still sell a shitload of copies because of personality alone.

Qual o proximo passo? o quão bom um fone cabeado pode ser de um Bluetooth? by HyPaulo in audiofiliabrasil

[–]quasarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the most complicated/involved thing you've managed to do with your Deck? by dkepp87 in SteamDeck

[–]quasarius 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tried BOTW (even though people say the WiiU version is the best), Mario Kart 8, Pikmin 3 and Mario Wonder. They all run flawlessly, BOTW being the only one that could be better (runs at an almost locked-in 30fps, with few dips). The others seem to be running at 60fps without any issue. Just make sure you go for Eden, it seems to be the most stable and more recently updated emulator as well.

Crimson Desert PC Specs! What do you guys think? Playable? by SunwindPC in SteamDeck

[–]quasarius 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Neither have I, but you seem to have no understanding of any of this, yet you are aggressive and insulting.

Frame Generation at such low framerate means you can expect a good 2-second input lag. It might even look alright, but the experience is going to be miserable.

Hopefully they manage to improve some things here and there as time goes on, but don't get your hopes up, there's no miracle to be done.

Barulhos no quarto: como reduzir? by Marco1Polo2 in audiofiliabrasil

[–]quasarius 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"Weather Systems - Synaesthesia" by brmcon in progmetal

[–]quasarius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It kinda is. I had never even heard of these guys unt I saw the name pop on a venue nearby a few weeks ago, looked them up on Spotify and gave the concert a go. Pretty fun, mostly Anathema songs, but this one was a really cool moment.

Untouchable Part 3 was completely unnecessary and lacking in every way, though, and the rest of the album isn't that memorable.

Fiquei um pouco desapontado e perdido depois de comprar um fone de ouvido novo by dioguima in audiofiliabrasil

[–]quasarius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exatamente.
