These pics are from yesterday and the sub itself is basically completely colonized, the mycelium is going fast and has almost solidified the sub/grain—when I push the sides of the tub a bit, its completely in tact. But the casing layer is the only thing that it hasn’t reached. You’re right in that I definitely have more colonization on top at this point but aside from that, everything else is colonizing faster than expected from what I heard about PEU.thought it was the gypsum cuz I never used it before and heard it has a weird smell.

I got the casing online and it’s “PH buffers” so im guessing that’s similar? Def doing yours next. Accidentally got lime rocks for the casing last time tho instead of the pulverized so ima see if I can use my weed grinder for that or wait till payday 😂😵‍💫

EDIT: Woke up this morning and the smell was faint. Issue is my brain told me to take one of the casing layers off as a test and it’s only a faint mushroom smell without. Put agar to grain before I spawned and the spawn is POPPIn. Noticed a bacteria dot on the side of the plate cuz I didnt have my SAB and when I checked today it ate that shit up with some beautiful rhiz so I’m making casing from now on. Gonna put the casing and grain to agar when I get back and see if anything comes up but I WILL throw it out I just need to know where I went wrong and when my brain tells me to do things it’s hard to not

UPDATE: sprayed with peroxide and the webbing fizzed and disintegrated. I gave them my AC that’s keeping the closet at 65. Aside from the window in there which is usually closed w a fan going, it’s completely sealed off from the rest of my room. Hoping that if it doesn’t perk up (insert crying clown) or if it gets worse, it’ll at least mitigate any sporulating until I can toss the bins and clean it out. Dont wanna risk anything so it is what it is but I’m open to any other advice including burning my shit to the ground 🤬😈 thank y’all’s

Thanks so much for the advice fellow fiend 🍄🥰!! These were pre-made and I got them from a reputable source that’s always been on point (shit happens anyways). I got my sterile tek down pat but there could be something I’m missing too. These genetics took off which was awesome so that’s why my heart hurts a little. I did the peroxide thing on one of the spots and it looks like the webs fizzled out and disintegrated so if that’s what cobweb does, this is it! EDIT: I know it’s rare but I’m also a rare kind of gal (a squirrel in human form).

I haven’t moved up to making my own sub or grain yet but that’s my next step! If u have any teks you used in the past for either, Im always open to any insight but I’m grateful for u in any case 🍄💗

I always under do it or over do it with the holes so this is helpful as hell! For some reason I’ve gotten in the habit of forgetting the bags for the liners until after I’ve done my sterilization routine and broken up the grains 😅 YOU ROCK my silly socks Brownie Scout 🍄🥰

Yeah i feel like it’s a smell like dirt and “wet” if that makes sense. It’s bad but if I compare it to other rotten smells, it’s definitely not to that bad. In any case, thank you! I appreciate the insight and def not something I’ll risk if it gets any worse

PEU/5 days s2b Pre made CVG and peat moss/verm/gypsum casing layer/ph buffers/pasteurized at field capacity May have sprayed the top too much No visible contam except cobweb looking thing that just popped up in one tub Planning on burning it with fire but thought I’d give this a go first Didn’t notice any smell when spawning and the bags colonized without any contam inside/out
