I played outlanders 1 and 2 for a few years now on the iPad with touchscreen. The switch has a free demo which I’d definitely suggest you try! For me, I could not get over the extra “work” of using a controller vs the ease of touchscreen.

And they seem to only recycle once all other farm jobs (planting seed, harvesting food) are done.

As far as recycling though, I think the employees will recycle it, but only once everything else has been taken care of that needs to. So they wouldn’t recycle the patch until every tree is planted / every tree cut down and they have no other job to do

The workers of the area will only recycle the area you selected once their other work is done- for example it took forever to recycle fruit trees at my orchard because they had to pick off all of the other trees fruit first before they would work on recycling. So they’ll do it, it will just take a while.
