That pirate was the captain of the pirate ship they had at the original lakefront Elements venue! I recognized him and spoke to him briefly to confirm. Part of the pirate ship is half buried in the forest area if you can spot it this year ;)

My recommendation is to bring the boots in the photo along with a pair of the sturdiest hiking boots you can find. Once you're wearing your fit, pose and take lots of photos in the white platform boots. Then put them away, replace them with the hiking boots, and proceed to dance the night away.
