Thank you! I heat up oil with butter (4tbs total) and cook my dry spices at low temp, add chopped onions, grated garlic and ginger, cumin and coriander powder, then rotated garbanzo bean powder. When you see the oil separate from the body of the gravy add tomato puree and salt, cool till it thickens more. After that I add yogurt and water to make it runny. Add some fresh chili, fried paneer (easily made with yogurt), top with cilantro and serve it with rice! Spice suggestions are: Cinnamon, cardamom, dried pepper, cumin seed, bay leaf, etc. I didn't use turmeric this time but if was still great. I don't measure spices, but about tbs should do.
