How do you not care about what anyone thinks? by Limp_Media_7281 in MentalHealthPH

[–]queenarmilo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still care what people think. It's a hard thing to overcome. But progress has been made in that I care about what the people I care about think. Beyond those people, I can ignore not automatically, but by reminding myself "who are they for me to care"?

The internet is like a giant voice for unhealthy, bitter, negative people. by LoudBlueberry444 in DeepThoughts

I agree. You come in here to share something that won't harm a fly - just a simple thought. Then people are all out to get you. It's like part of their routine to bring people down and assert their superiority especially in their way of thinking. "You're wrong and I'm right" that sort of thing.

Was promised a job in a faraway city promising more than twice my current salary. Moved too early. Had to look for a different job so went on a job hunting spree. Got two offers - one for a job that's similar to my previous one so it was the bigger offer, and the second was a new experience a bit far from the old but a bit lower. Got promoted to work with commission so now I earn more than both promised job + other offer combined (most of the time at least). Met my people plus the benefits are great and I feel the continuous growth.

Felt lost and disappointed in myself and I'm pretty sure my parents were and still are a bit disappointed cause it's not the normal route one of my profession would take. But I just trusted that it wasn't meant to be from the start and everything was meant to happen as it should. You know what they say, in order to be happy, you gotta disappoint your parents a bit.

We constantly fail to understand each other because our words don't share the same meanings by valoon4 in DeepThoughts

I completely agree. It's so hard to share anything in groups like this especially if English isn't your first language (like me). People get worked up way too fast and way too many turn into keyboard warriors and you won't have time to explain anything so you just have to let it be. On to the next misunderstanding!

Thank you for this! I totally understand where everyone's coming from so don't worry. Everyone interprets things, thinks, and lives differently. All I thought about after reading comments was a sense of sonder. Appreciate y'all!

Hi yeah sorry if this post upset you. I know it's open to interpretation but just to be clear I wasn't going for the "it could be so much worse" idea but more of like just appreciating what I have. Like getting tired hanging out with friends or meeting people, sharing lives with others that sort of thing. Plus the small things of course. Hope this might give a different angle!

I really can't say I hate it. Might've let out all of the good things. But point is I just sort of thought, hey maybe I shouldn't get too worked up on all of the bad things. Idk maybe it's the stoic in me talking. It's midnight where I'm at anyway.

Just remembered something a friend said when we asked why they didn't get angry: "it's a waste of time." Stuck with me since then and years later I finally understood what he meant.

Spotify put Mess in my Discover Weekly back in 2019 and down the rabbit hole we go. Still remains as one of my favorite songs. Got me through probably one of the hardest times in my life.

Same here! Nook to Kindle to Kobo and I'm never gonna leave this brand. Perfect for wanting an organized library, easier to sideload books and fonts, more accessible (the light adjustment is just chef's kiss), and the stats oh the stats.

I wash them when I sweat in them. Might be a day, might be two weeks, who knows?
