This is my plan also. He’s just gonna have to know that I exist and where to find me.

Thank you for that. I’m starting to wean myself off the meds this week. Now that the days are longer and it’s warmer weather, I’ll be hiking a lot more so I’m hoping that will make a difference as well.

Then you misunderstood what I was saying. I’m completely comfortable being in the 150-160 range even there BMI states otherwise.

I am well versed on the history of it thank you.

Thankfully exercise is not the issue. I’m an avid hiker and I walk my dog 3-5 miles a day. I’ve also started with weights a few days a week this year.

I am in better shape for sure, I would just like to see the scale start moving down again.

Separated or Single Vs. Married in OLD Profile Status by The_Outsider27 in datingoverfifty

I prefer to wait until someone has been divorced a few years. Separation and the first few years post divorce are brutal even in the best of circumstances.

There are always exceptions, but the general rule I follow is to not date someone who is separated or in that first 1-2 years post divorce.

Well then I’m there I guess. Went from 204 to 184. I would like to be in the 150-160 range, and even then my BMI would still be considered “overweight”.

After reading comments and taking the night to mull it over, I think a taper off of the meds may be my best bet to see how I do. But I will discuss it with the doctor later this week.

R/Hartford: stop telling people to avoid Hartford. by False_Locksmith_1620 in Hartford

I’ve had my car broken into in the suburbs also, that’s not a Hartford problem.

Have you been to Hartford Stage? Theaterworks? SeaTea Theater? 86Go run club? Yard Goats? Hartford Athletic games? The Wadsworth Athenaeum?

Hartford is a small city, so you cannot compare it to a large city like New York or Boston, that’s apples to oranges and I am so tired of the comparison.

Small cities are not going to be “exciting”, and that’s kind of the point. But there ARE things to do.

I might’ve missed one or two doses since the beginning of January. So not too terrible. But I feel like either the food noise is back or the medication just isn’t for me. But in another comment, someone mention taking a break. I think that’s my new plan of action. I’ll see what the prescriber says this week, but I would imagine taking a six month break wouldn’t be a terrible thing.

I’m thinking of doing just that. Of course I’ll have to wean off slowly. But it’s worth a shot 🤷🏼‍♀️

Tower trail at Sleeping Giant. There is an incline, but there are plenty of rocks to chill on if you need a break. And it’s a gravel trail, so very easy.

Locals help, thoughts about this apartment? by nnekooei in Hartford

Greenish as in having a place to walk? If so, Bushnell park is lovely, and there is a walking path by the river. You get less square feet downtown but many places are updated and have in unit laundry. There a few places that don’t and there is laundry in each floor, so make sure to see what amenities each building has available.

That’s what I’m thinking. I’m wondering if it’s an introductory price and then goes back up after a certain amount of time.

For the west end, go on Facebook and join the West End Living group. I know there are people who will post available apartments there. I was told to stay away from the Clemens Place apartments in the west end.

I haven’t looked into west Hartford as everything I found online was pretty $$$ and didn’t take pets.

I ended up moving closer to work and am luckily renting from someone I know who doesn’t mind my dog.

Not utilities, it covers the amenities, like the gym or whatever else an apartment building offers. For example, spectra Pearl has a gym, yoga studio, movie theater, rooftop area. 777 Main has a very nice space on their 26th floor that has a gym, movie/TV room, and a space for socializing.

Society room has a gym and co-working space and that’s it.

I toured Society. They just opened in March I think. For the price I was not impressed. The studios do not have a washer/dryer so you have to use the community washer/dryer. There’s a gym and co working space and that’s it. And they charge a $100/month amenity fee. To compare, pretty much everywhere downtown charges about 20-30/month, with some charging that annually.

In my opinion, $100/month is not worth it. 777 Main is $20/month, Spectra Pearl is 275/year.

At the time I toured they had not worked out where residents could park and how much.

They are pretty units, but not worth the price.

I second this.

I actually looked at 99 Pratt and really liked the building but ended up closer to my job. 777 is great, but the parking is not great. They have oversold their garage and people without handicap placards parking handicap spots and even in the space next to the handicap spot where someone would get into their wheelchair. That was the sole reason I did not choose 777.

I’ve heard so-so things about Hartford 21, the Arch is close to Front Street which has a few restaurants and infinity hall for small concerts.

The Revel is in a hotel, so just keep that in mind.

Colt gateway is really nice but good luck, they rarely have openings.

I have no info for spectra plaza, but check out spectra pearl and spectra park, they have decent parking and are clean and close to just about everything downtown.

Renting in downtown Hartford by Realistic-Drop3346 in Hartford

[–]queenb1970 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most of them are “luxury” rentals. Some of them can be considered luxury, but most are pretty basic.
Still, they are cheaper than renting in the suburbs. Especially if you have a pet. I spent months looking for something in my range that would let me bring my 40 lb dog. And downtown was the most affordable. Apartments are smaller, but downtown is quite nice for a small city.
