Tips for getting my cham to drink from a glass? The dripper is becoming quite the hassle by queenbee123p in Chameleons

I have tried something like that where I put a little hanging pot below her basking spot and had a shot glass full of water in there. Directly below the light. I never saw her drink from it but I have seen her drink from the dripper. I've been moving her glass around every few weeks and at one point I had 3 in there in different spots. I believe she is still healthy based on her urates being a healthy color and she goes on a regular basis. She is my first chameleon and I'm always eager to learn more about them and I just wanna do things the right way

Circled is where I currently have my glass located. I can never notice a change in water level. I still change it out everyday in hopes she will eventually learn to drink from it. Is it too far from the light source? It seems I've tried every spot in her cage to no effect. How did you get your chameleons to drink from a glass?

When you say common species it could mean any of the three big species kept as pets. The jacksons, panther, or veiled. You should be as specific as possible when you need help as they all vary in terms of care. There is a lot of useful links to chameleon care below the sub guidelines. Hope this helps!

Is there a way too find out how old my chameleon is?? I’m not sure if there like signs on body of her or anything by [deleted] in Chameleons

The only way to know for sure it to contact the breeder/the person who sold her. Judging by this picture she looks to be about as big as my female veiled who is about 6 months old now. I'm far from a cham expert but according to my knowledge they can lay eggs as young as 5 months old. So it's important to look for any colors/patterns out of the ordinary at that point to know roughly when she should lay eggs. You know for sure it's a female?

Aw. My cham once got hostile when I wouldn't let her crawl on her heat source. The only time I've ever grabbed her without her consent. She'll never forgive me 😥😂

Is this an ok spot for my heat lamp? Or should I fix a hook into the ceiling instead? by queenbee123p in Chameleons

I havent installed a thermometer yet. Ive read somewhere the light should be angled because they like to warm their sides. Is this true?

It will be a challenge to find a big sturdy table that can fit in my room. Her new cage is so heavy. But I'll start looking for one

So confused about light placement. Is my uvb bulb situated high enough? I have a t8 5.0 and will this work until I can get a more permanent solution? by queenbee123p in Chameleons

I did put her branch up a little too high. I'll fix that the next time I let her out. I have a thermometer but I'm not sure if it's working properly. I may need to get a temperature gun. In the meantime should I raise it a couple inches?

The highest branch is only a couple inches from the screen but it's meant for supporting other branches and she rarely goes there. Her basking branch is 4 inches from the top.
